Will DirecTV Take Moonlight?

After publishing the post about Moonlight being over I got flooded with comments…and after further digging I found a rumor that DirecTV may be considering picking it up. I finally had a confirmation when I followed a link that someone had posted about my site in a Moonlight forum. Here is what they had to say…

We’ve also been contacting DirecTV to see if they would consider partnering with one of these networks - similar to what they did with NBC to bring Friday Night Lights back for another season. Yesterday, we learned that DirecTV has asked for a meeting with Silver Productions. Now, we don’t know what, if anything, will come out of this meeting, but given the fact DirecTV contacted Leeser about putting up a poll to find out how many people have DirecTV and how many would or would not switch if they did anything for Moonlight gives us a small glimmer of hope for the show. There was also talk by Executive Producer, Harry Werksman, that a Plan B - which would be a Moonlight movie - could be a possibility. So, while the show will not be returning to network TV in the fall, many of us are hopeful that we can get it back in some fashion.

This is really good news! I just hope that a home is found soon. I can’t live without my Mick St. John.

There has to be hope for this great show, why is it that the networks do not see it?All shows should be given a second season and then a final conclusion worthy of the fans,we were left in the dark about the relationship on MOONLIGHT’S Beth and Mick.Let’s have a proper ending!!!

Moonlight is a quality program with a great cast which has fabulous on-screen chemistry. It deserves a second season. Clearly, 8 million fans can’t be wrong about its appeal. My family will watch whatever network saves this great show. CBS has not been watched since May 16 at 10pm. and will not be viewed in our home unless they give Moonlight a second season.

I too have not watched CBS since the final showing of Moonlight on May 16th. Before that it was my most watched network. But, Moonlight was the show I felt most strongly about and the other shows I watched on CBS can be replaced with other shows on other networks. I did not watch Moonlight because of the vampire theme. I watched it for Alex. It was a different type of show and had a lot to offer, comedy–romance–drama–action. I fell in love with it from day 1 and lived to see it each week. I can’t believe a show that won People’s Choice would not be given a second season. I pray some how we get the show back. I watch the repeats regularly on Amazon. It would be wonderful if another network picked it up and gave CBS bad ratings on the show opposite it each week. That would be awesome.

ITA with Linda. I watched the show for the romance and the wit… vampire stuff notwithstanding. It deserved another season to really show what it could do. Hard to believe that with such a strong fan base and consistently winning its time slot was not enough reason for a second season!! Hopefully some intelligent person with vision will wake up and realize that Moonlight is a jewel. (No pun intended!)

I KNOW THAT CBS MADE A BIG MISTAKE AND IT ALMOST FEELS LIKE SOMETHING PERSONAL IS GOING ON. NINA SAYING THAT THEY ARE TRYING TO REACH MORE WOMEN VIEWERS. WHAT THE HECK! SOPHIA MYLES(BETH)- STRONG, WORKING YOUNG WOMAN STANDING ON HER ON AND BRINGING IT(THE DISPLAY OF LOVE SHE SHOWS FOR MICK, PLEASE SHE IS AN AWESOME ACTRESS),JASON DORHING(JOSEPH)-CHARMING, AND WHEN HE GRACES THE SCREEN, ONE IS ON THE EDGE OF THEIR SET TO JUST HEAR WHAT HE IS GOING TO SAY NEXT. BEATUIFULLY DONE BY THIS GREAT ACTOR. AND ALEX O”LOUGHLIN(MICK)-THERE ARE NO WORDS THAT CAN DESCRIBE WHAT HE BRINGS TO THE CHARACTER OF MICK ST. JOHN, OR THEREFORE, I WOULD BE TYPING ALL WEEK.THE CAST IS THE RIGHT CAST. IT’S NOT THAT HE’S BEATUIFUL AND YES MEN ARE BEATUIFUL AND NO IT’S NOT ALL ABOUT HOW GREAT HE LOOKS. YES, HE LOOKS GREAT BUT THE UNIQUENESS OF THE CHARACTER OF MICK IS PLAYED IN SUCH UNCHARTED RAW TALENT BY THE NEW YOU AUSSIE ACTOR. IT’S LIKE THAT IS WHAT HE WAS BORN TO PLAY. I DON’T BELEIVE IN PERFECTION BUT IF I DID ALEX O’LOUGHLIN (MICK ST. JOHN IS PERFECT IN ALL OF HIS FLAWS. I DO NOT WATCH CBS ANYMORE AND HAVE NOT SINCE THE SHOW WAS CANCELLED. WE NEEDED SOMETING FRESH AND UNIQUE(CBS GAVE IT AND THEY TAKE IT AWAY). WELL, I ENJOYED IT WHILE IT LASTED AND MOVED ON AND LOOK FORWARD TO CHECKING OUT OTHER NETWORKS TO SEE WHAT I HAVE BEEN MISSING. HAVEN’T HAD TO DO THAT, I KEEP WATCHING MOONLIGHT ON THE INTERNET OR MY VHS TAPES. YES, I AM OLE SHCOOL. I HOPE AND PRAY THAT MOONLIGHT FINDS ANOTHER WAY BACK TO IT’S FANS. THE STORIES THAT ARE THERE AND WAITING TO BE BROUGHT TO THE SMALL SCREEN. IT HURTS JUST THING ABOUT WHAT MIGHT NEVER BE. FRIDAY NIGHTS WILL NEVER BE FUN AGAIN. JOEL SILVER(PLEASE, KEEP UP THE GOOD FIGHT FOR THE BEST, GREATEST, WORTHY SHOW ON TV) DONNA GILLIAM
