Guess what,
many people like the book way better than the movie!!!
Edward would never call Bella "Spider-Monkey"!
besides, the book is SO much better than the movie. There is one scene in the movie where its "raining" and only Edward is getting wet, not Bella and the following scene (they are still on the same spot) but its not raining anymore and guess what! Edward is not wet anymore! what happened?
that does not make sense!!!
the movie was a good way to ruin the book and take all the good parts and make them awful!
(I read all 4 books twice, and i saw the movie twice to compare and everything, so i have a backup on my argument.)

The movie was way better... mindless fun.
I LOVE bad, cheesy movies!

The book is just Bella's boring thoughts about Edward, how hot she gets when he's around and their relationship drags as nothing happens and they have absolutely zero chemistry or dynamite. Therefore, I love how straight to the point they were here. Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson have lots of chemistry and amazing sexual tension. Such a shame the pairing they play is boring and lacking in the "feeling" department though -.-

I liked how we saw more of Bella's friends (waaay cooler in the movie). oh, Movie!Eric is a favourite;) lol. Bella and Charlie are better characters too. James is uber hot, I don't remember him being that hot in the book??? Haha, nice detail.
The action... lame, but at least slightly better than the book. it made more sense.. although didn't they steal it from the other books? i wonder what are they going to put in the others..
THE BASEBALL SCENE PWNS!
XD
and...
the movie pwns!
that's it!

I think they are afraid that if Edward isn't in it until the end like in the book no one will watch it...also they might keep the old Jacob...they are announcing it this week.

Loved this list.

Not to argue what is really a very personal preference point, but sure this movie was driven towards teenagers... there is always some target market :) However, I think as an adult, if you've read the book first, you may be able to see past the highschool backdrop and enjoy the tenderness of the dialogue exchanged. I suspect if I hadn't read Twilight on a recent flight to Vegas, as something I grabbed at the airport just prior to boarding, I wouldn't have been interested in the movie. That being said, I quickly followed up with New Moon on the flight back and Santa generously provided Eclipse and Breaking Dawn. It's a love story, not unlike Romeo and Juliet, or Tristan and Isolde.

I agree with a previous poster that the movie did go quite quickly jumping from scene to scene and failed to capture more of the depth of the attraction between Bella and Edward. Had I not have had the foundation of the book, I can't say whether I would have enjoyed the movie at all. The book allowed to fit the pieces together.

I'm looking forward to seeing what Weitz does with New Moon... big budget and new director may mean a very different type of film.

I agree with Stacey; Honestly I think the book was a billion times better than the movie. Don't get me wrong, I absolutely love the movie. I've seen it 11 times in theatre && I plan to see it several more. But as you pointed out in #28 about "the lion fell in love with the lamb" line, first of all Edward says that, not Bella. Second, it was so unbelievably cheesy in the movie. && it seemed like it was just randomly put in there. In the book, they had been talking for a long time && worked up to the "I love you" part. It was so much more romantic in the book. There's alot of differences that I could point out between the book && the movie, && how the book is so much better, but it would take to long. Either way I love both. The Twilight Saga is beyond amazing.

&& for whoever said "I guess you’re all a bunch of 14 year old little girls… and you just thought the lead actor was good looking."

That's just stupid.
I'm 17 years old && I love the movie, not only because of the lead actor. I've liked Twilight since before they decided to make it a movie && I'm almost 99% sure that most Twilight fans have as well.
Besides, I know women that are friends with my mom that love these books && the movie as well.

I think it's ridiculous that several adults are criticizing those who like the movie to be 14 year old girls.

I think any girl or young lady would love to have such a thing happen to them. Most people loved the movie due to the romance and fantasy of it. I'd kill to have such a strong, protective, and down-right sexy vampire looking out for me.

Anyway, the movie didn't fail in the romance department. But overall, as a whole, it didn't really make the cut as an amazing movie. Maybe in the sequel since they'll have a larger production budget.
