meet me in the graveyard - viola

When I heard TheWB.com had an original show called ‘Meet Me In The Graveyard‘ – I totally blew it off without a second thought. I don’t usually have high hopes for short, original online series – especially after seeing the ‘Going Postal‘ webisodes for Heroes. But while hiding from family members during a loooong Thanksgiving day, I saw the name of the show when I was online, and for some reason I decided to start watching. What was supposed to be just a half-hour break away from all of the people turned into an hour. I didn’t want to stop watching – Meet Me In The Graveyard is oddly and fiercely compelling!

If you think maybe it’s just the name of the show that’s weird, you’re mistaken. The premise is, yes, also totally ‘WTF’-worthy. It’s essentially a story that shows you the webcam ‘mail’ interactions between a young girl, Viola, and a young man, Ace. Viola is in a mental insitution, and Ace is in a halfway home. Just like Romeo and Juliet, they fall in love despite the odds. That doesn’t even give away the story, though – don’t worry. There’s a lot more to this twisted and very well-acted tale with cats, lockets, graveyards, suicide clocks, mutes, puppets, ‘the female-sex type’,  boyfriend contracts, and VERY creepy dolls. Basically, the most perfect combination of things ever, you know? :P

The genre? It’s a… mystery, a romance, a campy comedy, a genuine hilarious comedy, a drama, a thriller, and even a horror-type of show.  Watch all 19 episodes of Meet Me In The Graveyard online. Each episode runs between 4-10 minutes. I know you probably don’t want to give this a shot, but I am not steering you wrong. It’s not dumb, it’s really interesting – so watch! You can also watch it on YouTube.

You can find love in the strangest places ever, man.

Many others have liked this show, like: Eric, Deje, Juniper, Mogul, and Julia.

Please let me know what you think of the series! I will admit that near the end, I was a little less enthralled with it, but overall I think it’s so great I’d probably buy it on DVD.
