I was on Twitter the other day, okay when am I not, but one of my favorite people that I follow Jimmy Fallon was talking about how he wanted a Saved By The Bell reunion. I finally saw this clip from his show where he explained it. Not one of the cast has been back together since the show and they need to be since it’s the 20th anniversary of the show. (Holy crap do I feel old now.) Mr. Belding the principal is already on board for the reunion.
I’ve been kind of sad lately and watching this video that Ashton Kutcher posted almost killed me. I was laughing so hard that I got funny looks from people in the room. Ashton needed to get his chest waxed for a scene in a movie that he is doing. It seriously made my day.
Word of caution: There is one scene that may not be appropriate for minors. So please hide all children while watching it.
I haven’t posted many pictures of Milo Ventimiglia lately. I’m sorry for that. So to make it up to you I thought I would include this picture from tonight’s Heroes called Into Asylum. I am so far behind on my Heroes watching but that should change soon because I bought a recordable DVD player. So now I can watch it on my computer instead of on the TV. That should work so much better for me.
Those of you who saw the most recent episode of Supernatural ‘It’s a Terrible Life‘ were treated to something very special. Callbacks to old episodes (like, majorly old)! I love when a show references something of the past that I miss. In this case, it was people. Three, specifically (Ellen and Jo Harvelle, and Madison the Werewolf). The ‘Bob’ mentioned could be ‘Bobby’ or it could be ‘William’, as in William Harvelle. I don’t know for sure. But I really miss Jo (Alona Tal), so I was so glad they mentioned her! Of course…in Dean’s ‘memory’ she was his sister!! AHH.
It was not made clear in this episode if the boys own subconscious minds decided their memories, or if the angels arranged them. The last names of ‘Smith’ and ‘Wesson’ (as in, the firearms) make me think it was the boys. But then when you realize that Sam mentions Madison as his fiance, and not his current sorta-kinda love interest, Ruby (who the Angels hate), maybe they did decide things. It’s not made clear.
This is a gist of what the references were:
Sam: “Think about it for just one second. What if we think this is our life? But it’s not?”
Dean: “I’m Dean Smith. Director of sales and marketing. I went to Stanford. My father’s name is Bob, my mother’s name is Ellen, and my sister’s name is Jo.”
Sam: “I only moved here because I just broke up with my fiance, Madison. But I called her number and I got a damn animal hospital!”
The one thing that bugged me about the episode was that I don’t think we, or Dean, needed an entire episode to get him ‘back on track’. I would have liked to see more of something new – not the same old ‘burn the DNA!’ stuff. Granted, there was a new approach…and I certainly liked seeing the Ghostfacers…but even so. It almost seemed like we needed more ‘big plot’ stuff than we got.
(The ‘Well-Respected Man’ reference is to The Kinks song that opens this episode of Supernatural.)
