American Violet is inspired by a true story and follows the struggle of Dee Roberts, a young single African-American mother, to clear her name after being wrongly accused and arrested for dealing drugs in an impoverished town in Texas. An honest woman with a clean record and no hard evidence to justify the accusation, she is forced to risk everything she has in order fight unfair prosecution and the criminal justice system. American Violet stars talented newcomer Nicole Beharie, Academy Award,® nominee Alfre Woodard, Emmy Award,® winner Charles S. Dutton, Tim Blake Nelson, Will Patton and Xzibit.

I just watched this movie on dvd and I was overwhelmed at this horrible injustice that still happens in this day and age. AHameon you Texas Good Old Boys I guess you aint so good anymore HUH.
