The Anticlimatic How I Met Your Mother Moment of the Series: Revealed!

Tonight, without even expecting it at ALL, I found out who the ‘Mother’ of How I Met Your Mother, is. (Unless the show is tricking us.) But it’s not from my insider info (PRETEND I AM THAT COOL, OKAY?), they actually made the reveal on tonight’s episode. Again, I was not expecting this. I always thought they wouldn’t reveal this until the last season. I know the show sometimes worries that they won’t be picked up again, so maybe they’re just covering their bases.
The episode with the ‘Mom’ reveal is called, predictably,, Right Place, Right Time. (The show happily endorses fate.) The reveal was somewhat a bummer because it’s the woman Ted almost married before, Stella! (STEEEELLA) She’s played by Sarah Chalke, and if it weren’t for Britney Spears insisting on being on the show (in an utterly inexcusable and horrible acting job), she would have been played by Alicia Silverstone. Viewers? We lost out. And now it seems that Ted married a flakey, annoying freak!
There’s just two more episodes of HIMYM left for the season. Those are titled “As Fast As She Can” and “The Leap”. I’ll miss Barney and Lily this summer, but I can’t say I’ll be missing the other characters.

Lol, this wrong. That was revolved some time ago.
While Yahoo has already gone and proclaimed that Sarah Chalke is the mother, I still find it hard to believe. This would be a stupid, stupid move on the shows part, mainly because the kids would ALREADY KNOW how their parents met, seeing as they would have an older sister who LIVED THROUGH IT. Also the story would have ended when he, I dunno, met stella LAST SEASON?!? I will be really pissed off if it is Stella.
I can’t believe they revealed it already. Wasn’t that the whole point of the show?
Dude – The show might try to get around the ‘there’s an older sister who could have told them’ by saying that the Dad wanted to sit his kids down and give them an official account from his own mouth. I think that would suck. I really didn’t like the Stella character. WOE.
Taylor and Sharon – I know, it sucks. It really is the point of the show, or at least it WAS the point of the show until the other characters (like Barney and Marshall) started overshadowing this. The sad fact is, people care less about ‘the mother’ now, I think.
Am I wrong, but didn’t older Ted say in the failed wedding episode, that if he’d married Stella, there’d be a whole different story he’d be telling and they showed a different set of kids? I think the mother is going to be someone Stella knows and introduces to Ted.
This is a good point, Keith. I really hope this is what the plan is.
If it isn’t – I hope they read the outcries and fix things!

If you watched last season, you’d know that we were told Stella was absolutely not the mother by future Ted.

I don’t think Stella is the mother. Her daughter isn’t the same as Ted’s daughter. I think the mother is the one in the episode “No Tomorrow”(season 3), when Ted bumped into a woman. At the beginning of the episode, it showed a woman with a yellow umbrella and jeans, even though it didn’t show the face, it showed the bottom. The woman Ted bumped into was wearing jeans also. Anyone else got ideas?
Nicco I totally agree!! in fact they even had her name in the credits as if she would return someday. (nicole muirbrook miller, i think) Why would they create this if it didn’t have a further meaning? She even has brown hair that matches the kids and Ted said she was at the party.

its not stella he said in the saint patricks day episode when there mother was there that night but he never saw her it wasnt stella it is the chik he bumped into he later meets her threw stella and yeh dont believe me look it up on youtube it all makes sence
if it said by the producers that the woman ted marries is actually someone he meets at a party early on in the 1st season

Omg use are so dumb, it's not Stella, one of many key points! The mum lives with Cindy(rachael bilson) the girl who Ted dated, not with Tony stella's ex! Think about it seriously! That's only one of many points. Have a think about posting things.
This show is rediculous. How can you have a show called How I Met Your Mother without the mother he has never met. It should be a show about how they actually met (First Episode) and their romance as it progresses over time.
ted's wife is not stella. God no. it's cindy's flatmate who has yet to be revealed. seriously you should watch season 5.
barneys the mother, in season 1 theres a flashback and you see barney proposing to ted.

The thing is if you look at the kids, the boy looks like ted and the girl looks like well if i tell you it'll spoil it but I think that she really looks like a character from the show too what does anyone else think

believe it or not..i hve a feeling that somehow we wud be treated to the fact that Robin is actually the mother…bt my brainwave says that in the last episode it might be revealed that Ted indeed dated Robin a friend of his….but in the last episode we wud be treated with anther image of robin..u knw Cobie Smoulders being the wife of Ted but with a diferent name..and Robin being well….anther face! getting what i mean???
