The Imaginarium Of Doctor Parnassus was Heath Ledger’s last movie. And I feel like I need to write about it every chance I get. I want to see this movie brought to the big screen and see him. While I was over at the new Imaginarium Of Dr. Parnassus Support Site I found this scan.
I love seeing how Heath was transformed into this creepy character. We all know that Heath puts himself into everything he does. In Brokeback Mountain he made me cry in the end when he felt bad for his lover’s death. In The Dark Knight he made me cry because seeing him in that role was bittersweet. I’m so glad they honored him with an Oscar.
I still miss him like crazy and I’m sure that feeling will never go away. But one thing is for sure I really want to see that movie. I hope the reception of it at Cannes this week is a good one.
I am so excited! I had no idea there were any 7-11’s left! Now,I know what I must do. Travel to Florida and get a Cherry Slushie/Slurpie/Slush puppy, whatever they are called at that particular store. (yes I am showing my age) at a 7-11, while wearing my PJ’s, so I can be as cool as Ashley Tisdale! It thrills me to know, that I’m not the ONLY one who will go out in some cute Jammie’s to pick something up, if need be. *Laugh* That being said, apparently Ashely has a new Album coming out “Guilty Pleasure!”And was actually in Miami, where she visited Y100, and played some new tracks for a group of fans. Then she made the infamous PJ to store run! Interested in keeping up with Ashely more often? Visit HERE and of course, you have GOT to see this:
Ashley is absolutely adorable, lovely, growing up and coming into her own.
I feel really old that I have practically watched her grow up. *Shaking my head* Where is the pause button on age? I’d like to have it now please, and thank you.
Whether you know her from “Man In The Moon” , “Cruel Intentions”, “Walk The Line”, “Just Like Heaven” or one of her many other projects, one thing is true of Reese Witherspoon, she is an angel. A true southern belle, in grace, poise, respect and her giving attitude. Reese captured my heart a long time ago with her acting, she has always been a favorite of mine, but becoming familiar with her charity work, well, let’s just say that soft spot for her has increased ten fold. She donates her time and/or financial support to the following AFGHAN RELIEF ORGANIZATION they Deliver relief aid directly into the hands of the needy throughout Afghanistan, and offers general education programs designed to encourage self sufficiency at the ARO Technology Education Center (TEC) in Kabul. She also helps out AVON FOUNDATION Who are Committed to the mission of improving the lives of women and their families, particularly focusing on breast cancer and domestic violence. Her next charity? CHILDREN DEFENSE FUND Their goal is to ensure every child a Healthy Start, a Head Start, a Fair Start, a Safe Start, and a Moral Start in life and successful passage to adulthood with the help of caring families and communities. (Love that cause, love it). Next she lends her support to DECLARE YOURSELF A national nonpartisan, nonprofit campaign initiated in 2004 to energize and empower a new movement of young voters.
Think I’m going to stop there? No, because she doesn’t. I know right, just keep reading. *Smile* FILM FOUNDATION Their cause?Protecting motion pictures and the rights of the artists who create them, educating the public about the importance of film preservation, and raising the necessary funds to save the endangered cinematic treasures of the 20th century. She also helps out with FOOD BANK NYC, THE LUNCHBOX FUND They help to provide food to disadvantaged children in order to help them grow and achieve their goals. Also, Reese gives to TOY MOUNTAIN Collecting new, unwrapped toys for less fortunate children during the holiday season. And last, but certainly not least, she also commits to UNIFEM the women’s fund at the United Nations. It supports projects that promote women’s economic security, human rights and status.
I’ve always heard of southern hospitality. If Reese isn’t the embodiment of that. If she isn’t everything that we as women, we as human beings need to strive for, then I don’t know what is. I have been impressed, and amazed beyond intelligent speech. Thank you from the bottom of my heart, Reese for leading the way, and showing that one person can TRULY make a difference. You really are an angel.
No, Robert honey, we didn’t forget your birthday. That may as well have been, and probably was, a national Holiday for almost every woman in existence. We did, however, want to stand out, to be fashionably late. And since you read my posts,Robert and are uber familiar with my work (Okay so I feed my delusions *laugh*) you know we’re going to do this Willow Raine style, and be completely random and weird.
So first, we hope you had a great Birthday celebration, there in Vancouver with all your fellow New Moon cast members and friends. I wish I could have been there, the pictures look like you were having a blast. We wish you many more Birthdays, but I chose to wish you a MERRY CHRISTMAS and give you two video gifts that I know will touch your heart. (And of course the first song in lieu of Happy Birthday to You)
What would Christmas be, without Christmas Carols? Nothing? Exactly. So, here is your non Birthday Song. Enjoy!
Now, that we have that out of the way, I want to give you your first gift from me, personally. I have done my research, because after all, I have to know my soul mate, right? *Grin* I KNOW you love Jack Nicholson, and “Five Easy Pieces” So, of course….
And last, but certainly not least. A Van Morrison song, because he’s one of your favorite artists. So soulful, raw, pure, and amazing. I had to search to find it, but you’re more than worth it.
I’d love to hear you play and sing THAT song, it’s among one of my absolute Van Morrison favorites.
Happy Belated Birthday Baby! Hope you get everything you wished for when you blew out your candles. We love you.
I will not tell a lie. I sat in front of my television, glued, phone in hand with my best friend, Kasey, on the other end of my receiver, awaiting the verdict in tears. Screeching obscenities at Ryan Seacrest and anyone else, that was prolonging, causing us this painful wait to see who was going home. Now,I know that if Adam Lambert goes home, if he doesn’t win American Idol, that he WILL have a prominent music career, anyone can see that. That doesn’t stop the bats,no make that pterodactyls I have in my stomach every week, awaiting to see if he is safe. There were moments of that show, that I just gripped the phone tightly, and couldn’t say a word.
When they showed the footage of him going back home, I got misty eyed there as well. The way he interacts with his fans, it is as if he can’t believe that he is where he is. Adam is a star, I’m willing to bet anyone that has ever known him, could have told him that. I’m telling him, and the world, that now. Have been for quite some time. His talent and his voice are unparalleled. Bar NONE.
And even though, I KNOW all of that, even though I KNOW he will never just fade away, when they announced he was safe..the scream that came from my mouth was possibly louder than any note he has EVER hit. No joke. Immediately, while still on the phone with Kasey, I started firing off texts, Taylor Blue got one, Lauren got several. She was probably begging me to stop as a matter of fact, and a few other friends received one as well, because I was celebrating. Happy dancing all around my house. Elated. NOT SURPRISED, just THRILLED.
Let me just say, before posting the first video from Tuesday night, the Judge’s choice (Of course Simon chose Adam’s), that I have never been a big U2 fan. I know. I know. Bono is an amazing activist, but the music isn’t my taste, sorry. Though if Adam sang me their songs, I could possibly be swayed. *Laugh* This is “ONE” by U2
Tell me, wasn’t that absolutely captivating? *Sigh, drool, grin* And yes, I can multi task and do all three things at once.
The next song he performed, because apparently he googles himself and found that the fans would LOVE to hear him sing Aerosmith because of his vocal range (one can only hope he’s seen MY posts on him), is “Cryin’ “ and the way that song made me feel when he sang it should come with censors and a mature rating. WOW.
I just read a quote by, Adam Lambert that I absolutely ADORE, although, come to think of it, I adore almost anything he says. But I digress. He said: “I’m like your boy next door that decided he wanted to be a rebel one day…so I’m a NICE rebel.”
I’m not sure that there is a word, befitting, to describe Adam Lambert, but I can tell you one thing, he is beautiful, inside and out. Whatever you do Adam, wherever you go, you will OWN it, no doubt about it.
Last, but certainly not least, Adam since I hear you are into astrology, if you ever need advice, or need to be (as we call it) oracalized, you should get in touch with me. I know someone who is an amazing Tarot reader, is deeply spiritual and into astrology.
I know she’d consider it an honor to do a reading for you.
I think I’ve been (To quote Eddie Izzard) “Living in a cave, like you doooo”. Why? Because up until recently, VERY recently in fact, I am ashamed to admit that I had no idea who Jimmy Fallon even was. I’m sure somewhere my guy friends, and Taylor Blue are cringing, because they all know who he is, and are adoring fans. Now, Jimmy please understand, as soon as I found out that I was living in a cave, and under a rock, I started doing my research, which is why Jimmy Fallon gets my heart warming, selfless, celebrity of the day post.
For those of you that may not know who he is (and *Gasp* how could you not!) He has been on SNL,he hosts Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, and has been in Fever Pitch. He’s also a comedian (of course), actor (duh huh), and a musician. Yes, he is. He plays the guitar but will apparently only sing within the protected solace of his car, because to sing elsewhere could scar the general public. Oh come on, Jimmy it can’t be THAT bad, can it? But juuuust to be safe, think you may ought to actually sound proof that car? *wink*
Regardless of my lack of knowledge prior to this post, I really do have a lot of respect for the causes he supports, and found one of his quotes that I fell in love with.
” I didn’t act like I was there. I just got into the story.”
As he gets into his stories, he also gets into giving back. Proving that even as a comedian, he takes charity to heart.
The organizations he supports, starts with ALAFA – Apparel Lesotho Alliance to Fight AIDS. He also donates to FOOD BANK FOR NYC – The city’s major hunger-relief organization. Working to end food poverty and increase access to affordable, nutritious food for low-income New Yorkers. He also helps out with ROBIN HOOD – Targets poverty in New York City by finding and funding the most effective programs and partnering with them to maximize results. Last, but certainly not least, he also shows his support to STAND UP TO CANCER -Stand Up To Cancer is a non-profit organization/website/TV show that aims to raise money for cancer researchers and scientists to come together and reach their common goal: the cure for cancer.
I may not have known who he was before, but I am very aware of who he is now. He may be a celebrity who walks red carpets, and entertains thousands, but he’s also a very giving human being who brings positivity, and extends a hand to those in need. Jimmy Fallon, Comedian, Actor, Musician, Self proclaimed atrocious singer, but definitely a selfless humanitarian.
