Ladies, Ladies, Ladies. I KNOW that Rob is gorgeous, anyone with eyes knows that, but can we just look at pics of him and appear loco in the comfort of our own homes, and then act like we have SOME form of respect, sense and god forbid boundaries in public? I am well aware of his sexiness, and his appeal, but can’t you see that it makes him very uncomfortable to be mauled the way he was yesterday? I honestly saw one part in the video footage of said mauling, where he looked so anxious it hurt ME, then some girl hugged him, her friend snapping a picture, immediately he smiled. Once his handlers removed her, he went right back to being anxious. Is that what you want? A painted on smile? I’d rather him smile genuinely, and if you truly admire Rob you would as well.
I’ve heard the argument that this is what he signed up for. Bollocks I say. He signed up to act, he signed up to hopefully have fans, he did not sign up for crazed, lunatic, obsessed stalkers who won’t even allow him to urinate in peace. Autographs and pictures are probably acceptable, but you have to ask yourself WHEN it’s appropriate, and realize when it is NOT. In case you can’t determine these things for yourself, I have thought perhaps I could help you:
When it is perfectly okay to ask for an autograph/ how TO behave:
* When you are at a twi-con or an actual autograph signing/meet & greet.
* If you approach them, and ask them nicely (of course giving them the respect/right to refuse)
No, wait, I’m going about this all wrong. Maybe I should tell you how NOT to go about it.
When NOT to ask for an autograph, what NOT to do in general:
* Do NOT stand outside of their personal trailer on the set (especially if you’re well over the age of 18) in preparation to maul them at first sighting.
* Do NOT scream so loudly that they feel as if the gates of hell have opened and they are hearing the damned souls begging for mercy.
* Do NOT approach them outside of the bathroom (or going into it).
* Do NOT go up to them and interrupt any meal or outing with friends,for an autograph or picture. It’s just rude. Would you like it? I know I wouldn’t.
* Do NOT overstep any rights or boundaries that they have as human beings. Regardless of them being in the public eye, at the end of the day, they are just like us and deserve privacy. The right to a normal (as normal as anyone can have) life.
* Do NOT think that just because they are celebrities that you own every ounce of time they have.
All of that being said, most celebrities we know and love don’t mind,and in fact ADORE their fans, are very thankful and appreciative, I know that Rob is absolutely no exception.
He loves us all, but I’m sure he’d also love some space. Appreciate the tortured artist behind him, and sometimes, just sometimes admire him from afar. You can appreciate the view without defacing it, claiming it, or getting it’s signature, believe me.

That’s the best article I’ve read yet. I don’t think anyone could have said it any better. I would never have the nerve to go up to him forget attacking him. I would just drool from a far. I hope some people take your advise but, I don’t think they will. Great article and good luck Rob!! Please keep singing and acting. Looking forward to seeing you in something new and different.

You are spot on Willow, I agree wholeheartedly and wish you would post your article on every RPattz site for all Rob’s fans to read and adhere to – I love him and am loathe to admit obsessed with him, but I RESPECT HIM above all else and would not want to stress him out any further, just because of my obsession. I don’t want him to change and he will if we don’t give him space, so let’s all admire his work and let him BREATHE from a far.
I doubt they would listen.. so many desperate & lonely women out there -it’s inevitable. It’s like they were hypnotize, somebody hit the gong and shout ’snap out of it’. Great article though, but those ‘women’ doesn’t seem to have an ounce of self-respect. Hope he is alright –5yrs from now this will be yesterday’s news, it’s not forever. I agree with everything you are saying. It would be a shame if he became a recluse and we never got to see him in public. He seems like a really sweet guy and is extremely polite to his fans but there may come a point where he stops because of situations like this. Hang in there Rob! You have plenty of fans who respect you enough not to do these things.

While I will never be a screaming fan girl. I totally agree that there are those of you out there who dont think it lunatic to stalk a “celebrity”.
and to Mr Pattinson wherever you are out there. Well done you for dealing with it, with as much dignity as you do. There are those of us out there that admire you for your talent as an actor. We truly hope that this crazy world you are in right now does not scare you off to the nearest hermit site for the next 10-20 years…

Sadly, this is what happens when you allow a crowd to gather. It goes from a few innocent fans to a mob scene. I completely blame that on Summit for not taking into consideration any real security measures on set. As for those so-called fans, that totally violated his personal space…You need a reality check. What makes you think its okay to touch someone without their permission? Total disrespect and beyond uncool. Wonder what kind of impression you made on Mr. Pattinson? Oh he’ll remember you, but not in a good way.

I agree with everything you said, but I would go one step farther and say that people need to get there Rob news from just one place. If everyone who has a brain in there head would go to one website for there news then all the other websites wouldn’t be able to make money off him and the paps would leave him alone. I know i know i don’t live in the real world. Even if that did happen there would still be plenty of crazies with no brain to keep the gossip sites going. I’ve seen the anxious looks he has sometimes with all the attention/mauling and i think people are going to take it too far and he’s going to say enough is enough and move away from acting. P.S. I think How to Be is a much better movie than Twilight.:)

I am applauded that Summit Entertainment’s craziness, exposing Robert while he is trying to work by making him so accessilbe to the fans that he has to run a gaunlet every day to get from his trailer and back to the set. What are they thinking, he nearly got run over by a taxi I just read?? Get your act together Summit and protect your star.
yes don’t crowed around him. The picturs that I see of him, he dosn’t look like himself at all. he neads a brake. LEAVE HIM ALOWN. I’m 37.
I wholeheartedly agree and sincerely wish they would LEAVE HIM ALONE!!! They are going to be the reason for him to quit acting all together and that would be a GREAT LOSS for us all!! He is such a talented actor and musician!! I am looking forward to more from him for many years, if they would just leave him alone!!!
