Michael Jackson:The Man, The Legend.

I know that some of you may think, that we are late in writing a more in depth post about Michael Jackson, but I beg to differ.  I know that the family, friends, and fans around the world still have not had ample time to mourn, but I did wish to show them a high degree of respect, and allow them a reprieve from the constant coverage, if only on this site, if only by my hand.

Michael Joseph Jackson was born August 29,1958, and it was almost as if he were destined to sing, because I have never seen another person with such a fierce purpose, or calling, to be quite honest.
His career began in 1968, when he was a boy of ten years old, and it lasted damn near FOUR DECADES. Wrap your mind around that.
In his time as an entertainer, he was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame not once, but twice, which is a rare feat indeed. His achievements included, but were definitely not limited to multiple Guinness World Records, such as “Most Successful Entertainer of All Time”, thirteen Grammy Awards, thirteen number one singles, and the sale of over 750 million records. More importantly,and definitely most admirably to me, he was a notable philanthropist, donating millions of dollars to the thirty nine charities he supported. Some of which are listed here:

It breaks my heart, to know that a man has done so much good in his life, has made such an impact on so many people, both personally and professionally, yet the only thing people want to discuss are his faults, his accused flaws.
Whatever transgressions he may have made while on this Earth, nobody has to take judgment for them but him, and we should not be his judge and jury. We haven’t the right.
Like one of my dear friends,Whit, told me the other day. Most of her childhood memories, include some tie to Michael Jackson and his music. I feel it is that way for many, and I, for one, choose to remember the contributions he made to this world.
Michael Jackson was a performer, an artist, and a legend, but beneath all of that, he was just a man.

Leighton Meester & Ed Westwick Back On Set

One of my favorite TV couples, Leighton Meester and Ed Westwick were on the Gossip Girl set today. By the looks of it Blair isn’t impressed with Chuck. But really, I am sure Chuck is up to no good with the look he has on his face.

And there was something I thought was interesting in these pictures. Leighton is wearing flip flops with her dress, maybe so that she doesn’t seem so tall up against Ed? I remember when she was kissing Chace Crawford and she had to be on a box for that one. That must mean Ed is way shorter than Chace.

Kate Winslet Covers Harper’s Bazaar

Kate Winslet is the cover girl for the August 2009 issue of Harper’s Bazaar that hits news stands on July 21st. Inside the issue she talks about her reputation, drugs, her breasts and nudity. Here are the highlights:

On her breasts: “If people are noticing my boobs in a movie and saying they do what real boobs do, then that’s great. I’ll be 34 in October. I can’t keep getting away with it… people have seen enough of my bum and my boobs. I have to put them back.”

On her Oscar moment: “I wanted to run over to my parents and do one of those Wimbledon moments when the person jumps from the court and leaps over the audience and the bleachers. I did have the urge to do that.”

On having a good reputation: “When everyone was out getting plastered, I didn’t do all of that. I was working. I was doing life. Now that I look back, I feel very lucky. I’ve never taken drugs, never been offered cocaine.”

Hayden Panettiere Reveals All For Details Magazine

Hayden Panettiere is taking on a more adult look for Details magazine. In the August 2009 issue she talks about keeping her private life private, her dad and the media. Here are the highlights:

Trying to fit in at school as a child actress: “I was tortured, emotionally tortured by these girls. Every time I came back from filming, it would be me trying to find my way back into the clique. And they weren’t having it.”

The publicity from her father’s arrest for alleged domestic battery last year: “It was very tough, especially since it’s my family. It’s one thing if you do it to me. I get frustrated, but I can handle it. But when it involves my family, my friends, forget it—I lose my . . . ”

Keeping her romantic life private: “When it comes to relationships, it’s nice to have something that is your own and not everyone else’s.”

Dealing with the tabloid media: “I learned the game. The more I react, the angrier I get, the more satisfaction they get. That’s exactly what they want.”

Ali Larter Beautiful In Blue

Ali Larter was spotted getting a coffee in between takes on the set of Heroes yesterday. I have a huge girl crush on Ali, I’m not ashamed to admit it. I can’t wait to see what’s in store for Ali’s character/s on the show. And I hope that she’s there for the whole season.

Kellan Lutz Has Bedroom Eyes

I have to admit. I really tried to find a different title for this post but  I couldn’t. There is something about Kellan Lutz’s eyes that just go right to my heart. He would just have to give me one look like that and honestly I would let him get away with anything.

Kellan was at the Moods Of Norway Flagship Store Launch at the Robertson Boulevard in Beverly Hills on Wednesday night. It seems that he is so busy lately with filming a movie, The Warrior, and going to all these appearances. I have no problem with it. It gives me more opportunities to write about him.
