Twin Towers

We will never forget.

I was doing good with really trying hard to not think about what day it was. I had briefly talked to one person about it, but I was trying to stay away from the topic of it with anyone. I went through my day letting my thoughts drift to it sometimes.,  The kids and I had went for a walk to the dog park and on the drive home I had to ask them if they knew what day it was and if the teachers had mentioned it in school to them. My son had no clue and my daughter said that the teachers just said it was 9/11 and that’s all. I got really upset thinking that there was no way that they could mention something like that.

I watched the whole thing happen in front of my eyes on the television that day. And I locally here in the city I live in we had precautions we had to take. And the most eeriest thing I ever felt was when they said that no planes could be in the air. I live in a flight path and hear airplanes all day. It’s a part of my day now. But when there were no planes for days it felt so weird like something was wrong.

Life changed that day. And I think eight years later we can learn to change that feeling of hopelessness to hope. We can let it not get the best of us and we can make sure they don’t win. It’s amazing how everyone has bonded together and brought back the importance of being patriotic.
