Thank You John Mayer…

I am holding John Mayer primarily responsible for something…for letting the word douche be acceptable to be used on television. I know because of him I use the word quite often to explain how people just don’t get him. I think he’s a great douche. But I know there are many people that don’t agree.
How did douche ever make it onto television and how did it become appropriate to even utter something like that? And then there are those two other words b*tch and a*shat. I heard Dean Winchester (Jensen Ackles) utter a*shat and almost died. I called up Willow Raine and was like did I really hear that? And then I rewound it a couple of times.
Thinking about it now it seems that the most of the swearing I hear is on the CW. I wonder if they think that it makes their channel more hip and exciting. That’s what I do at night, I weigh all my options and say, “You know I am going to go with the channel that has more swearing in it because really that’s more of what I like.” I am totally wrong about that. I think that sometimes it’s used too much. If you can notice it it’s not being used right, at least in my opinion.
The days of George Carlin and his, Seven Words You Can Never Say On Television, might end up being phased into the television networks. I was actually watching it last week and I was roaring. I am sure that all those words will widely accepted by the end of 2010. So if swearing is something that is okay, when will nudity get here? We all know that those soap opera’s would be more exciting if there was some soft nudity. The housewives that take care of their kids all day (namely me) get bored and really need something to spice up their day. An actor going into the shower with a bare butt would work for me. That would energize my whole day.
Swearing and nudity. I think that would be a great way to go for the television networks. I hope you are listening to me…

Okay, so we all know that I agree with “Chris Griffin” in his “That’s enough, John Mayer” sentiment…
And I agree that he is a douche bag of monstrous proportions, (although some of his music isn’t too horrible to listen to lol)….
however, I happen to think that if swearing, and even nudity are the worse things that we experience in this world, then we are walking away rather innocent, and untouched.
I swear like it’s my job (though I shouldn’t, I know it’s not ladylike..however, I never claimed to be a lady.. admittedly I do know when it’s okay, and when it isn’t, but I digress), they’re only WORDS.
To give a word power, is to give it power OVER you.
It’s ridiculous.
You stub your toe and want to yell out “SH**” then go for it, it helps, believe me.
You get mad at work and you want to scream FML, then by all means do it, because it’s a release of anger, and it may help to lower violence…
you know, I could get even longer winded but I won’t.
Is it acceptable to swear in church? No. (but I don’t go, so no big.)
Is it acceptable for your child to swear in church, in school, or what have you? No.
As long as we can learn when swearing is, and isn’t acceptable in public, then I see no harm in watching it on television..
oh and Tay, as for the nudity…
Check out FX, SONS OF ANARCHY … plenty of Jax butt to look at, and is he ever HOT.
John Mayer is a Douche bag.
No way will I every listen to his music again. It stopped being about music when he tried to dump music and do the Hollywood scene with that old Aniston chick.
I brought his first 3 Cd’s and use to go to his concerts but he turned Super Douche bag with his nose up in the air. He is a jerk. Now I can’t stand him. He and Aniston can jump off the cliff together and they will never be missed.
I’m even threw my ‘Any Given Thursday’ away!
I’m embarrassed to say I ever own any of his music.
NEVER WILL BUY ANOTHER PIECE OF MUSIC BY HIM.
I take it you missed NYPD Blue that had copious amounts of nudity (at least for network television, HBO would scoff at the amount of nudity on NYPD Blue). Surprisingly that hasn’t become a trend as I don’t think anyone has tried since. Maybe if Jay Leno threw in some nudity every once in a while it wouldn’t be such a disaster for NBC (of course that is under the assumption that it isn’t Jay disrobing).
Yeah, I missed that whole NYPD Blue thing. But I heard it was awesome for the amounts of nudity it did have. And if Jay Leno got naked I would unsubscribe to NBC right away. LOL
