Green River Ordinance has always been one of my favorite bands, within the first seconds of hearing Come On I knew that it would be a hit. Back in February, I had a chance to interview them and I was very impressed all around. And now they have premiered their video for the song Come On.
I have been wondering what they have been up to. And today I finally got an answer to that question. The Fort Worth, Texas quintet have toured with the likes of Gavin DeGraw, Jack’s Mannequin, The Academy Is, Kate Voegele and most recently American Idol winner David Cook in support of their major label debut Out of My Hands. They worked with producers Mark Endert (Natasha Bedingfield, Maroon 5), Jordan Critz and Paul Ebersold (Sister Hazel, 3 Doors Down) on the album which builds on the strengths that got the band noticed, with accessible, hook-laden songs suitable for cruising — windows down and radio blaring. Reminiscent of arena-ready, larger-than-live rock bands, Green River Ordinance expertly blends emotive vocals, guitars-to-11 and anthemic choruses to deliver moments certain to move crowds with lighters (or cell phones) inevitably waving in the air.
Album sales have been consistently increasing as Out of My Hands launches up the Billboard Heatseekers Chart. Several songs have been featured on shows like So You Think You Can Dance and MTV’s The Hills which have exposed the band to new audiences outside of their hardcore fans.
Experience GRO’s infectious pop/rock sound first hand in the recently premiered video for “Come On.” The clip was directed by Wes Edwards (Brooks & Dunn, Jason Aldean, Trace Adkins) who crafted the cinematic, split screen shots that help the song’s story unfold.
Green River Ordinance is singer/guitarist Josh Jenkins, brothers Jamey (guitar) and Geoff Ice (bass), Denton Hunker (drums) and Joshua Wilkerson (guitar). Out of My Hands is available on iTunes now.
