I love Thanksgiving and Christmas episodes of shows. There is always a crisis and somehow it gets resolved in that hour. And in that time you might just laugh and cry many times. I just hate that in Canada we have to wait for another month and a half before we get to see the Thanksgiving episodes from the States. But we still appreciate it.
Episode eleven of the season is called, Treasure of Serena Madre, and it goes like this: It wouldn’t be Thanksgiving on the Upper East Side if there wasn’t a serving or two of some major drama for the holiday. Blair (Leighton Meester) suspects her mom (guest star Margaret Colin) has been keeping a big secret from her, but it turns out to be something else entirely. Vanessa (Jessica Szohr) is supposed to spend Thanksgiving with her parents, but has a fight with her mom (guest star Gina Torres) and shows up on Dan’s (Penn Badgley) doorstep. Rufus (Matthew Settle) learns that Lily (Kelly Rutherford) has been lying to him about her mother, Cece (guest star Caroline Lagerfelt). Chuck (Ed Westwick) tells Nate (Chace Crawford) that he has some potentially damaging information about one of their friends. Jenny (Taylor Momsen) learns that Eric (Connor Paolo) was behind her very public embarrassment at Cotillion and can’t pass up a chance to get even. Serena (Blake Lively) is put in a very awkward position when her mother invites Trip (guest star Aaron Tveit) and Maureen (guest star Holley Fain) to join them for Thanksgiving dinner..

I have to say that Gossip Girl has really brought the guest stars this year, Hilary Duff, Jimmy Fallon, Lady Gaga and one of my personal favorites, Kevin Zegers. I was going to write about Kevin before…he starred in the Air Bud movies and he grew up in Canada…right near where I lived in Ontario. We all know he has to be cool then!
The tenth episode of the season is called, The Last Days of Disco Suck, and it goes like this…Hoping to impress the elitist theater kids at NYU, Blair (Leighton Meester) sets her sights on landing a private concert with the hottest musical performer of the year, Lady Gaga. Dan (Penn Badgley) and Olivia (guest star Hilary Duff) sign up to write and star in a school play, based on an idea by Blair and directed by Vanessa (Jessica Szohr). With Blair out of the picture, Serena (Blake Lively) turns to Nate (Chace Crawford) to help her get through a difficult situation. As a favor to Chuck (Ed Westwick), Jenny (Taylor Momsen) agrees to hang out with Damien (guest star Kevin Zegers), the son of an ambassador who is staying at Chuck’s hotel, but the experience proves to be a lot more intriguing than she expected.

Blake Lively looked glamorous at the Chanel Sponsors Fall Gala in NYC for The Society of Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center at the Four Seasons Restaurant in New York City tonight (November 4th).
Blake recently revealed that she never took a formal acting class. She had parents that taught acting and they taught her everything she knows.
Well, my parents taught an acting class when I was growing up, and because I never had a babysitter, I would end up at them. When I got older, I knew all the drills so well that I felt fine getting up on stage. Without them, I’d still probably be hiding under my mom’s skirt.
You can tell those personal acting lessons helped!

Blake Lively is on all the covers of the magazines Robert Pattinson isn’t on for the month of December 2009. And here she is on the cover of Marie Claire. This issue hits news stands on November 10th. Here are some of the highlights from the interview in the magazine.
On one of the remarkable things about you is your ability to imagine yourself in situations that are much bleaker than what you’ve experienced in your own life. As a character, I get to be this wild, outgoing person that I’m so not. I think it all comes from being the youngest of five. I was always observing my siblings and hearing stories about their lives that turned out to to be helpful as an actress.
Do you think of yourself as Southern, even though you grew up in L.A.? I grew up in L.A., but I was the only one in my family born there. I have a tight-knit Southern family, so whenever I tell people I’m from L.A., they say, “Yeah but you don’t count,†I guess because of the Southern values I was raised with , and the way I eat – the more sugary and cheesy and fried, the better.
The way you dress is so bold. You seem very comfortable with yourself right now. Living in New York, I feel stronger and more like a woman than ever before. In high school, it was like, what power do I have – I have long blonde hair, you know? But working as hard as I do now, I feel a sense of power and respect, too. And I’ve learned an incredible amount about fashion on Gossip Girl. Clothes are a personal expression, and my style is as ever-changing as I am: I’m growing, maturing, developing, I’m going through new things in my life, and with that, what I choose to wear changes.

Blake Lively took a break on the set of her movie, The Town, in Boston yesterday. The caption on the picture said that she was showing off her characters lack of fashion sense. But I’m not so sure. I think she doesn’t look too bad.
I wonder if Blake gets her lines mixed up between Serena and this character. It might be hard to jump from one to another.

Blake Lively is the cover girl for the November 2009 issue of Nylon magazine. In the issue she talks about her friends, riding elephants and how she’s like Serena.
On punking her friends: “I swipe my friends with, like, my phone or something, – I slide it in their butts. Like in middle school! You say ‘Visa! Mastercard!’ Just to give somebody a jump. I’m a prankster.â€
On riding elephants on her recent vacation to Thailand, India and the Maldives: “Elephants are the most incredible creatures I’ve ever been around. You’re sitting in this water that they poop in, and somehow it’s not gross. You’re scrubbing the bottom of their feet and behind their ears…â€
On her empathetic nature: “I feel a lot. I get really bad stomachaches all the time. So I went to a doctor, and he said, ‘You’re an feeler.’ I take on people’s pain a little too much.â€
Is she completely different from Serena? “No, because I dress just like Serena! I own half her wardrobe, so it’s far too similar to the way I dress. I feel ridiculous at times with her – because I’m, you know, killing someone or marrying someone, but I look like me. I’m like, ‘Oh, this is absurd.’”
Blake on her new film, The Private Lives of Pippa Lee. “I had a leash around my neck, and Julianne Moore was taking pictures. I thought, What am I doing with my life? What is happening? How is this a good idea?”
