First there was the TruBlood drink, I was okay with that. The names weren’t so bad and you really might think your drinking blood if you imagined it. But, now there is this new energy drink, they say it’s the Blood Energy Potion. I am thoroughly creeped out by this one. Do you remember back in Moonlight when Mick St.John was caught by Beth Turner being a vampire and drinking blood out of these bags? That was one of the most amazing scenes by the way, but it freaked me out that he was drinking out of a blood bag.
This made me cringe…
Blood Energy Potion: the world’s first synthetic blood beverage. The fruit punch flavor packs 4 hours of energy along with iron, protein, and electrolytes. Not only does Blood Energy Potion have a similar nutritional makeup to real blood, but it has the same color, look, and consistency of blood. Get real blood nutrients without that real blood taste! The re-sealable transfusion bag style pouch provides the convenient delivery of fluids for vampires and humans alike! Contains no real blood, just synthetic!
The description they made for it was really good. Too good for me. I don’t think I’ll be drinking this one. How about you?

I was one of those girls that was shattered when Moonlight was canceled and it took me along time to stop writing about how much I wanted that show back. There was no way I wanted to ever give up on Mick St. John. I even wrote Alex O’Loughlin about how much I cared. (Alex did write me back, and I love him for it.) I lost myself in those shows, and I was sad when the fight had to be over. I never gave up on Alex though, and on October 4th we get to see him in a new show, Three Rivers, as a doctor. Now to me doctors are just as sexy as vampires (take for instance Dr. Carlisle Cullen) so this should be a great show.
TV Guide caught up with Alex and asked him what his show would be like and how it feels to be back. Here are the highlights (especially pay attention to the whole scrubs thing, I died when I read it):
On if Three Rivers will be a hit with Moonlight fans: Yeah, I hope so. This one is a very important show. I really hope that my fans come with me on this because Andy means as much to me as Mick St. John does. And if everybody comes with me and has a look and gives this a chance, they’ll see why.
On wearing tight scrubs: [Laughs] We have tight scrubs. We have wet skin when we scrub in. We make eyes at each other over the operation table. There’s going to be lots of love affairs and stuff like that would happen in a real hospital. It’s going to be really exciting.
On being a big fan of vampires and not following Twilight but following True Blood: I haven’t been following Twilight. I watch True Blood when I can, but I’ve been very busy. So I’d like to get a box set and watch it that way. I actually went to network for that show.
On auditioning for True Blood: Yeah, at the same time I got Moonlight. I tried out to play Bill, the main vampire, and also Sam the dog.
On if Moonlight would have done better if it aired now: Maybe. But maybe it wouldn’t have got picked up at all because there’s too much vampires. What can you do? Moonlight will always be the best.
On the prep work he did for the show: Triple bypasses. [Laughs] No. I started with what I had in the script. I started researching all of these diseases of the heart and conditions of the heart and operations that needed to take place and branched off from there. The world of medicine is immense, but also the doctor-patient relationship was very important to me. I worked with a surgeon, and he’s a pure, benevolent person. So that sort of study, the study of him, was as interesting as the study of medicine.
On if he’s a good cook: I’m okay. I barbeque. I grill chicken and fish, and I can make good salads and veggies and make some nice dressings.
On if he cooks for his girlfriends: Yeah, for sure! I don’t always cook because I’m busy but I’ve worked in a lot of restaurants and a lot of kitchens so I can conjure stuff up pretty well. I’ve been a waiter. I’ve been a barman. I’ve been a kitchen man. I’ve worked on construction sites. I’ve flipped burgers. I’ve fried chicken.
On being crazy for motorcycles: Yeah. I’m crazy for motorcycles. I just finished building my first Harley. My last four bikes have been Ducatis and I’ve got a Triumph now.
On his other vices: That’s my most dangerous vice. I really enjoy the finer things in life. So the idea of a great holiday for me is to go to Europe, go to Paris, eat some great cheese, smoke some great cigars, go to the theater then go on a yacht and sail somewhere else. That’s just heaven for me. In 2016, I think I’ll be able to do that. You don’t get to go away while you’re working. It’s great to be working, but that’s what I’d do. I’d go away, get a bit of sun, sleep
We all can’t wait to see you Alex. I can’t wait until October.

I have been so excited to finally announce that Moonlight is finally going to be on DVD. I was dumb and didn’t keep any of the episodes that I watched. So on January 20th, 2009 you can get the first season to take home.
The 4-disc set will have all 16 episodes starring Alex O’Loughlin, which will be presented in widescreen video and an English and has subtitles in other languages too. There has been no bonus material has indicated as of yet. The cost of the DVD will be around $39.98 (American).
Here is the studio description of the show…
..Any private eye knows a lot about other people’s secrets. L.A. private eye Mick St. John (Alex O’Loughlin) has a secret of his own. He’s a vampire, dwelling in a covert netherworld complicated by friendship with an undead finance honcho (Jason Dohring), memories of the alluring ex- wife (Shannyn Sossamon) who turned him into a vampire, and a relationship with a human (Sophia Myles) he feels drawn to protect – and maybe to love. But no matter how tempting, Mick knows a vampire-human romance is eternally dangerous. This 16-episode, 4-disc set of the series voted the 2008 People’s Choice Award for Favorite New TV Drama is a sure entertainment bet for all who like their vampire stories sleek, intense and passionate.
I am going to run out and get it…Thanks to Buzzwire for the news! I still can’t believe how much I miss this show. I miss Mick and Beth so much!!

It’s Alex O’Loughlin’s birthday today. I have already sent him my birthday wishes on his MySpace but I thought I would wish him a happy birthday here too. I really hope that CBS has something great for him. The sky’s the limit….and accept nothing less…happy birthday Alex.
Check after the jump for my favorite Moonlight scene and some of my favorite pictures of him…

CBS has partly listened to us and has signed on Alex O’Loughlin to a one-year holding deal. They are hoping that Alex will star in a new CBS show that is in development. I am so happy that we will be able to see Alex again…but I still would love Moonlight back!

First, before I get to business I need to talk about something. I have been very active with Digg lately. And there I have found the best Jericho fans around. They are committed to saving Jericho. I totally admire them. It’s because of this fight with Moonlight I have found them. Jericho fans are persistent and they are out to get what they want. I have never found people that will fight so relentlessly for something they believe in.
The other day, I published a story about how Nina Tassler said that she wasn’t sorry about canceling Moonlight and all fan mail really was all about Alex O’Loughlin.
TV Squad got a chance to talk to Nina and tell her how mad Moonlight fans are about what she said the other day…her response?? (Jericho fans get ready…you are are included too!)
I caught up with Tassler at the CBS party that night, and I told her about the comments I was getting. When I speculated that I didn’t even think the Jericho fans were that passionate, she retorted, “I think they were. The Jericho fans … I spent a lot of time looking the blogs and the website. Look, I don’t want to say Moonlight fans weren’t fans of the show. They were. But in sort of sifting through all of it (the e-mails, etc.) it was very much about ‘our vampire, Alex (O’Laughlin).’” When I mentioned that some of the comments were pretty ugly, she just looked at me and said, “It’s not a pretty business.”
Nina doesn’t know what she is doing…there is so much more to that show than Alex. I love Alex…but I love the story and the cast too.
