Skillet have just released the title track off their forthcoming album, Rise, which is available June 25th. The song “Rise” is part of the band’s first ever concept album, as singer John Cooper explains, “The narrative idea happened after we had 10 or 11 of the songs chosen. As we recorded them, we started to realize that there was something going on – that the album was really telling a story. Realizing that, I knew we needed to make it as powerful as we could.”
The band are also offering their die-hard fans the chance to hang out with them on tour via the “Road to Rise VIP Experience.” For more info check out this video here.
Skillet will also be hitting the road this Summer on the Festival Circuit. Be sure to catch them at Rock on the Range, Alive, Creation East, and Rock the Park this summer.
Platinum selling rock band, Marianas Trench has now released their new EP, Face The Music, on Cherrytree Records. The EP features 4 tracks including their current single, “Desperate Measures,” and “Haven’t Had Enough,” as well as brand new acoustic tracks of “Fallout” and “Haven’t Had Enough.”
“Fallout” (Acoustic) is exclusively streaming now for fans to hear over at PureVolume. Mike Ayley (bass player) spoke about the new track saying, “We are very happy to have an official acoustic version of ‘Fallout’ available for our fans. This is one of my favourite tracks on the album. I remember the first time I was in the studio and we were tracking the demo. We were playing around with the arrangement, working the drums part in particular, and it just completed itself. I love the way this track manages to utilize lots of harmonies, which is a real Marianas Trench trademark, yet is very easy to sing along to. Hope you enjoy Face The Music!”
I have to add that I listened to the EP last week, it was neat to hear the music I’ve been listening to for a while on it. ‘Fallout’ is one of those songs you can’t stop listening to and the acoustic version is different than the original one I’m used to. But then again. I always like acoustic versions of songs. ‘Desperate Measures’ is a rock anthem that you can just turn up and sing along to it. I do that often as it is on my favorites playlist. Mariana’s Trench doesn’t disappoint.

Platinum Canadian genre-bending outfit, Down With Webster has now released the official video for their latest single, “One In A Million.” The video, which was directed by Aaron A (Nelly Furtado, mynameiskay), gives fans a look into the DWW live experience. The band spoke about it stating, “we wanted to create a video that captured what the Down With Webster live experience is all about: energy and movement. The idea was to take imagery that resonated with the emotion of the song, and by blasting it on a larger than life scale with the band rocking out, we could unify and magnify them both.” Fans can check out the video now through the band’s official YouTube page.
“One In A Million” is now available through iTunes and will be on the band’s upcoming release due out later this year. To stay up to date on all things Down With Webster, make sure to check out their official Facebook and Twitterpages for updates and upcoming tour dates in the US.
