I really wasn’t sure what direction this post would take, if I’m being honest, when I found out that Adam didn’t walk away with the “Title” of American Idol. I did figure that I would be writing it with a heavy heart, but as the initial shock has worn off, I find that I’m actually encouraged. I know, that’s kind of odd for such an Adamantly Loyal Lambert. Just take a walk with me for a moment if you will, and take into consideration what he did WIN, even if he didn’t walk away the 2009 American Idol. He got the exposure that he needed absolutely (though I feel eventually fame would have happened for him anyway), he opened so many minds, made so many think outside of a box that they had been living in for so long, possibly for their entire lives. Showed people the striking beauty of the moon, that had only ever seen the relentless light of the sun. Even if you weren’t a Lambert , your life was touched by him just by watching the show. Every week,  we welcomed him into our home, and watched his spectacular performances, every week he won over people that many thought impossible. For So long, as a writer, I had almost forgotten my passion, the reason that I take any chance I can to write, and just watching Adam brought so much of that back for me. You could almost feel his energy exuding from the television, there is nothing like watching him perform. It’s incomparable, and every single performance is etched permanently into my brain. (Not to mention saved on my DVR, but I digress). If we all had the passion, the zest, the talent, and yet showed the beautiful sides of our souls more often, like Adam Lambert, this world would be so inspirationally amazing. Though, I dare say, if we were all as great as he is, then we wouldn’t appreciate a flower amidst all of the weeds, would we?  No matter where the road through this life may lead him, I, for one, am willing to walk quietly with him. Unless I’m at a concert, and then, he’ll hear me, I assure you. *Laugh*
I will not tell a lie. I sat in front of my television, glued, phone in hand with my best friend, Kasey, on the other end of my receiver, awaiting the verdict in tears. Screeching obscenities at Ryan Seacrest and anyone else, that was prolonging, causing us this painful wait to see who was going home. Now,I know that if Adam Lambert goes home, if he doesn’t win American Idol, that he WILL have a prominent music career, anyone can see that. That doesn’t stop the bats,no make that pterodactyls I have in my stomach every week, awaiting to see if he is safe. There were moments of that show, that I just gripped the phone tightly, and couldn’t say a word.
When they showed the footage of him going back home, I got misty eyed there as well. The way he interacts with his fans, it is as if he can’t believe that he is where he is. Adam is a star, I’m willing to bet anyone that has ever known him, could have told him that. I’m telling him, and the world, that now. Have been for quite some time. His talent and his voice are unparalleled. Bar NONE.
And even though, I KNOW all of that, even though I KNOW he will never just fade away, when they announced he was safe..the scream that came from my mouth was possibly louder than any note he has EVER hit. No joke. Immediately, while still on the phone with Kasey, I started firing off texts, Taylor Blue got one, Lauren got several. She was probably begging me to stop as a matter of fact, and a few other friends received one as well, because I was celebrating. Happy dancing all around my house. Elated. NOT SURPRISED, just THRILLED.
Let me just say, before posting the first video from Tuesday night, the Judge’s choice (Of course Simon chose Adam’s), that I have never been a big U2 fan. I know. I know. Bono is an amazing activist, but the music isn’t my taste, sorry. Though if Adam sang me their songs, I could possibly be swayed. *Laugh* This is “ONE” by U2
Tell me, wasn’t that absolutely captivating? *Sigh, drool, grin* And yes, I can multi task and do all three things at once.
The next song he performed, because apparently he googles himself and found that the fans would LOVE to hear him sing Aerosmith because of his vocal range (one can only hope he’s seen MY posts on him), is “Cryin’ “ and the way that song made me feel when he sang it should come with censors and a mature rating. WOW.
I just read a quote by, Adam Lambert that I absolutely ADORE, although, come to think of it, I adore almost anything he says. But I digress. He said: “I’m like your boy next door that decided he wanted to be a rebel one day…so I’m a NICE rebel.”
I’m not sure that there is a word, befitting, to describe Adam Lambert, but I can tell you one thing, he is beautiful, inside and out. Whatever you do Adam, wherever you go, you will OWN it, no doubt about it.
Last, but certainly not least, Adam since I hear you are into astrology, if you ever need advice, or need to be (as we call it) oracalized, you should get in touch with me. I know someone who is an amazing Tarot reader, is deeply spiritual and into astrology.
I know she’d consider it an honor to do a reading for you.
Wednesday night, I saw a side of Adam that I really was not expecting. When they announced Disco night, I got extremely excited, because I could picture him bringing all of his theatrical experience to the stage. In my mind he was already wearing bell bottoms, gold chains, and doing the Saturday Night Fever, bit.
I was WRONG. I couldn’t have been further off, if I had tried. He left all of that behind, and just showed us, AGAIN, that even though he is a multi faceted talent, his voice is simply divine.
I will admit, I missed the eyeliner, the nail polish, and long for the performance that I had conjured in my mind, BUT I can’t deny that Adam Lambert has the voice that surpasses angels, in my book.
It’s not silver, it’s golden, and I have to confess, that even in the suit, without all of the “extras” that we have come to know and love that we associate with Adam, he is still beautiful.
Come on,judges, and America, isn’t the competition over yet? Haven’t you tortured the other “contestants” long enough?
Adam Lambert sang, and danced his way through another week on American Idol, as if there was any concern that he wouldn’t! He is a born performer, no doubt about that. I mean seriously, where is the competition? Every time they go through the theatrics of telling him whether or not he’s safe, I laugh. If there is one thing that I am always sure of, it’s that he’s not going home any time soon based on his talent!
For me,this season should have become Adam Lambert Idol the second he walked in and opened his mouth. This show, in my opinion, could be all Adam all the time!
If you missed it Tuesday night, or if you’re like me and never grow tired of watching him, look at this: Perfection in motion:
And because I have seen the issue of his sexuality addressed so many times on other sites, I have to express my opinion here. Come on, you knew it was bound to happen.
If I had a dollar for every time I had to listen to,or read about a narrow minded person saying “Adam is gay” I’d be the richest woman in America. So, let me respond by saying this:
IT DOESN’T MATTER,and more IMPORTANTLY people, it’s HIS personal business. Yes, pictures are floating around, as they always seem to do when you’re in the public eye, but as for my thoughts on the matter? Adam didn’t audition for a “Let the world judge you based on your sexuality competition” he auditioned for a SINGING competition,he is an amazing singer, and he’s absolutely beautiful to look at. It’s really sad to know that in the year 2009, we are still as backwards and narrow in our thinking as we were 50 years ago.
I’ll end by saying this, which is something I have always said about Idol when I am forced to listen to the sob stories of the contestants:
I don’t care if you were rich and now you’re poor.
I don’t care if you have had a revelation and have been saved.
I don’t care if you have overcome.
I don’t care if you were lost and now you’re found.
It’s a singing competition, so all I care about is CAN YOU SING? And let’s face it, Adam Lambert CAN sing. He has our vote here at Ten Gossip.
We love you Adam! You really are an inspiration, keep your head up babe!
Big Brother 9 wasn’t the best season…but it has been the most intriguing. Where are the final 6 now?
James: James, it appears, has been a busy man since the season ended. Mostly, he’s been partying. He stayed in Los Angeles for a little bit, then he went back to Richmond, Virginia for a while. He said he was going to start his bike trip again, traveling the world, but the plan is on hold. He’s back in Los Angeles right now (supposedly) and he’s postponing the bike trip until after Big Brother 10, which means he probably is in talks to be on House Calls for the upcoming season.
Natalie: Natalie is back in Oregon, working as a bikini barista. She’s painting mermaids and self-portraits in her down time (I know), and contemplating a move to Los Angeles.
Sharon: Apparently, she’s back together with Jacob. Seriously, WTF??
Sheila: From the best I can tell, Sheila is simply back at home with her son, enjoying her freedom.
Ryan: Ryan and Jen went on a Caribbean cruise soon after the season ended. They have moved in together, and Ryan is going right back to school. He is scheduled to finish up in the winter.
Adam: Baller is enjoying life. While he was inside the Big Brother house, Adam was fired from his job, leaving him no place of employment to come back to. He doesn’t really need a job right now, considering he won the $500,000 grand prize on Big Brother. It appears as if he’s returned home to Florida after a bit of a vacation. He has rescinded his commitment to give h1alf his winnings to charity, which probably has something to do with how much of the 500k will be taxed.
I can’t believe that some of the people went back to being normal people….
