Nikki Yanofsky Releases New Song For 2010 Olympics “I Believe” Reaches #1 on iTunes Canada Top Songs Chart

Posted by taylor blue on February 16, 2010 | No Comments

With a powerful, soulful voice to rival singers twice her age, 16-year-old singing sensation Nikki Yanofsky is the voice of the 2010 Winter Olympics in her home country of Canada with her latest recording, “I Believe.”  Nikki sings the English-language version of the song, which is the official theme of Canada’s Olympic Broadcast Media Consortium.  “I Believe” is the young star’s first #1 single, recently breaking into the top 10 on Canadian radio and passing the platinum sales mark on iTunes Canada, where the song has been a best-seller since its release.

In a recent interview with CTV, Nikki said of the track: “The song has such a universal message. It doesn’t even need to be applied to the Olympics. It’s really just about believing in yourself and your talent, and that when you’re down, there’s people around you that really do support you.”  Nikki also sang the Canadian national anthem during the live broadcast of the Olympic opening ceremonies in Vancouver, which had a worldwide audience of over 3 billion people – one of the largest television audiences in history.

Nikki’s version of “I Believe” will be included on her upcoming debut album, Nikki, scheduled for release later this Spring.  The album was produced by legendary producer Phil Ramone and Grammy Award winner Jesse Harris (Norah Jones), and will be a combination of original songs and classic covers – an album Nikki describes as “sophisticated pop.”  Visit NikkiYanofsky.com for more information, and be sure to grab “I Believe” on iTunes today.

Ryan Gosling Wears Tight Shirts And I Like It

You know sometimes I get freaked out when guys wear tight clothes. I’m not sure why. Maybe it’s because I can’t handle wearing anything tight myself. It makes me feel closed in. So when men wear tight clothes maybe I think they are going to smoosh things that aren’t supposed to be smooshed.

Ryan Gosling is one of those guys I’m okay with though. He can make anything look good. Maybe I’m biased because he’s Canadian but man, he can fill out anything nicely. I”m still sad about The Lovely Bones movie. I really wanted him to be in it. I can’t even look at a picture of it without crying because I wanted Ryan in it. This crazy talk is coming from being tired. I should just be quiet before I say too much.

I watched an X-Men Origins: Wolverine commercial on tonight. And I really honestly think that my favorite part of that movie will be Ryan Reynolds.,  I remember the first time I saw Ryan it was in a show on Nickelodeon called Fifteen. Incidentally, I happened to be fifteen myself that year. I knew that boy had a future ahead of him.

So this Canadian is now one of the hottest men out there. If I go see X-Men it will be all because of Ryan.

Just Released: Nickelback Live at Sturgis Uncensored

Posted by taylor blue on March 20, 2009 | No Comments

Nickelback Live

I have to admit this to everyone, Nickelback is one of my favorite groups ever. They are from the province I live in (Alberta) and I quite enjoy their music. I don’t know why Canada is so down on them, they even have radio stations that advertise that they don’t play Nickelback on their station. I think that they rock. I could literally listen to their song How You Remind Me over and over all day and not get bored.

March 10th the Nickelback Live at Sturgis (totally uncensored, and I mean nudity here!) DVD was released. This high definition DVD was filmed in front of 35,000 fans at the world-famous Rockin’ the Rally show in Sturgis, South Dakota in 2006, and is now being offered with unedited content as well as bonus features that include a behind-the-scenes featurette and the Rockstar music video.

The track list is as follows…Animals, Woke Up This Morning, Photograph, Because Of You, Far Away, Never Again, Savin’ Me, Someday, Side Of A Bullet, How You Remind Me, Too Bad and Figured You Out.

I really enjoyed watching this concert. I have always wanted to see them live and never got a chance to see them. And I can’t get over how blue Chad Kroeger’s eyes are!

Ryan Gosling Dresses Totally Canadian

There’s this saying I have…well okay, I’m only really saying it for the first time right now. You can take the Canadian out of Canada but you can’t take Canada out of the Canadian.

I can’t get over how Canadian Ryan Gosling looks in that jacket! (It reminds me of the Lumberjack jacket I would steal from my step-dad to wear to shovel the lane way of snow.) But really Ryan could look sexy in a toga for all I care. But if he thinks he’s cold he should come to Alberta, it’s bitterly cold!
