I had a frantic text message sent to me that I needed to see these pictures of Jackson Rathbone and that I would be super excited to see them. And since I spent yesterday talking about Kellan Lutz, I thought why not and talk about Jackson.
They published a couple of behind the scenes pictures from the set of Jackson’s new movie, Girlfriend. Yesterday, details about the movie were released by the director, Justin Lerner, who had this to say about the movie.
We’re in an economic crisis, and [the film is set] in a small town where there’s lots of lying, deceit, jealousy, rage, violence. Evan is pure good. He’s pure innocent love. How fascinating would it be to put pure, innocent, unconditional love […] into this world, and see what happens.
Jackson is an amazing actor. I can’t wait to see him in this movie rumored to be released in 2010.

I think its so ironic that with all the happenings with Michael Jackson that it reminded me of Heath Ledger and his sudden death. And then not a couple of days later this issue was buzzing around the internet. Although this issue was planned before Michael’s passing it’s just too freaky for me. This August 2009 issue of Vanity Fair hits news stands tomorrow and is packed with stuff I really don’t want to read. I did find some nice things that I would share…
On Heath’s devotion to acting according to director Terry Gilliam: “He would arrive in the morning completely knackered. By the end of the day he was beaming, glowing with energy. It was like everything was put into the work, because that was the joy; that’s what he loved to do. The words were just pouring out. It was like he was channeling.â€
On why Heath didn’t want to take the role of the Joker according to agent Steven Alexander: Heath “was always hesitant to be in a summer blockbuster, with the dolls and action figures and everything else that comes with one of those movies. He was afraid it would define him and limit his choices.â€
On his motivation to perform well according to Alexander: “He wasn’t motivated by money or stardom, but by the respect of his peers, and for people to walk out of a movie theater after they’d seen something that he’d worked on and say, ‘Wow, he really disappeared into that character.’ He was striving to become an ‘illusionist,’ as he called it, able to create characters that weren’t there.â€
And now for the beautiful pictures that were taken back in 2000 when Heath appeared in Vanity Fair, some of them have been published, some not. They are all amazing.

More pictures….

I am counting down the days until New Moon comes out, and what is even more neat is that I’ll be able to watch the whole process. The rehearsals all the way until it’s done. It will be quite the experience for me anyways.
Kristen Stewart did an interview recently where she was talking about the New Moon set and how it’s be revamped. She says the set is “strikingly beautiful–not that it wasn’t last time–but the vampires look greatâ€.
It should be interesting to see how the change of director will change the movie.

I just came back from pre-ordering my Canadian version of the Twilight movie and then I saw these scans from the next issue of Entertainment Weekly and I had to share. I am so glad that I subscribe to this magazine because in this week’s issue it gives you a preview of the book that is coming out on March 17 by the director of the movie, Catherine Hardwick. The book, Twilight: A Director’s Notebook, comes out only four days before the movie does. (So since the bookstore and the store I pre-ordered my movie are right beside each other I will be hitting up both places.) The preview that EW gives makes it look amazing for sure!
