You all know that I, Willow Raine, LOVE American (ahem ADAM LAMBERT)Idol, and that I was sad, yet eventually okay, that Kris Allen had won.
However, I felt instant relief that Adam wouldn’t have to sing that HORRIBLY PAINFUL song “No Boundaries” written by Kara DioGuardi, and pity beyond words, that poor Kris had to. Nobody deserves that torture.
Thankfully, as reported by the New York Post
“THIS year’s roundly disliked “American Idol” victory anthem, “No Boundaries,” has been sent home.” AND ” was reportedly getting such a poor audience response during the concert that, without comment, Allen was told to find a new song to replace it.”
So, my fellow Adam Lambert fans, I tuned in Tuesday night, as we all do every week for “Adam Idol” and watched him perform a song recorded in 1965 by the incomparable Sammy Davis Jr. (a member of the Rat Pack of course) “Feeling Good”. As always, without fail, Adam left me feeling good, and confident that he had NO worries, and would sail right through the elimination without any issues what so ever. If you missed it or want a repeat, see for yourself below:
Now, let me tell you guys, I, and FOX have realized that Adam Lambert is their ticket to ratings. You know most tune in to see Adam perform, and to make sure he’s safe, which leads to huge ratings, and as soon as we see him, we change the channel, which makes the ratings drop. So, now, as a result of that epiphany by the network, we all painstakingly sit through the rest of the traumatic performances, while our sweet, sweet Adam is forced to go near last every single time. Do we stay put and watch it for him? Of course. He’s worth the torture, because the second he opens his mouth and that voice flows from deep within him, all of the irritations we have just melt away. At least for me. So, usually, I forgive them pretty easily for making me sit through the torture. After last night though, I’m not going to be so forgiving. They hurt my/our Adam and that is unforgivable to me. The look on his face when they jerked him around, as they do so many of the contestants, trying to keep up the suspense when it came to elimination just broke my heart. They should not do that to anybody, but especially Adam. I miss the eyeliner, I miss the nail polish, I miss his theatrical influenced appearances, surely, but I continue watching because of his insane talent. If he’s “eliminated” I have no doubts that his career will be an extremely successful one, but if this is sincerely a talent competition like they keep pushing us to believe, then by all means the most talented SHOULD win, and ADAM LAMBERT should be the next American Idol. We shall see how truthful they’ve been with us all along.
Wednesday night, I saw a side of Adam that I really was not expecting. When they announced Disco night, I got extremely excited, because I could picture him bringing all of his theatrical experience to the stage. In my mind he was already wearing bell bottoms, gold chains, and doing the Saturday Night Fever, bit.
I was WRONG. I couldn’t have been further off, if I had tried. He left all of that behind, and just showed us, AGAIN, that even though he is a multi faceted talent, his voice is simply divine.
I will admit, I missed the eyeliner, the nail polish, and long for the performance that I had conjured in my mind, BUT I can’t deny that Adam Lambert has the voice that surpasses angels, in my book.
It’s not silver, it’s golden, and I have to confess, that even in the suit, without all of the “extras” that we have come to know and love that we associate with Adam, he is still beautiful.
Come on,judges, and America, isn’t the competition over yet? Haven’t you tortured the other “contestants” long enough?
Adam Lambert sang, and danced his way through another week on American Idol, as if there was any concern that he wouldn’t! He is a born performer, no doubt about that. I mean seriously, where is the competition? Every time they go through the theatrics of telling him whether or not he’s safe, I laugh. If there is one thing that I am always sure of, it’s that he’s not going home any time soon based on his talent!
For me,this season should have become Adam Lambert Idol the second he walked in and opened his mouth. This show, in my opinion, could be all Adam all the time!
If you missed it Tuesday night, or if you’re like me and never grow tired of watching him, look at this: Perfection in motion:
And because I have seen the issue of his sexuality addressed so many times on other sites, I have to express my opinion here. Come on, you knew it was bound to happen.
If I had a dollar for every time I had to listen to,or read about a narrow minded person saying “Adam is gay” I’d be the richest woman in America. So, let me respond by saying this:
IT DOESN’T MATTER,and more IMPORTANTLY people, it’s HIS personal business. Yes, pictures are floating around, as they always seem to do when you’re in the public eye, but as for my thoughts on the matter? Adam didn’t audition for a “Let the world judge you based on your sexuality competition” he auditioned for a SINGING competition,he is an amazing singer, and he’s absolutely beautiful to look at. It’s really sad to know that in the year 2009, we are still as backwards and narrow in our thinking as we were 50 years ago.
I’ll end by saying this, which is something I have always said about Idol when I am forced to listen to the sob stories of the contestants:
I don’t care if you were rich and now you’re poor.
I don’t care if you have had a revelation and have been saved.
I don’t care if you have overcome.
I don’t care if you were lost and now you’re found.
It’s a singing competition, so all I care about is CAN YOU SING? And let’s face it, Adam Lambert CAN sing. He has our vote here at Ten Gossip.
We love you Adam! You really are an inspiration, keep your head up babe!
Although, I liked different music growing up, I never got attached to “Tears for Fears” for some reason. After this performance by Adam Lambert, I thought perhaps I should give it another try. I did. Still nothing. Apparently, it wasn’t the song I liked, though the lyrics are masterful, it was the way Adam delivered it. Of course.
If he doesn’t win American Idol this season, there truly is no justice. Adam, if you’re reading this, you’re our Idol, and always will be!
