Entertainment Weekly has really impressed me this year. Or maybe I am biased because I subscribe to this magazine. But I am continually excited to get the issues in the mail. On Friday they are putting out a tribute issue for Michael Jackson and unlike other magazines I think that EW has their heart in the right place. They are celebrating with four different covers, and you know you have to buy every cover don’t you?
Some of the tribute things that can be found in this issue?
* a plethora of rare photos
* a complete timeline
* a comprehensive discography (including his earliest work with the Jackson 5) and videography
* a playlist of his essential tracks
* an essay by our columnist Stephen King, who writes about working with Jackson on the 1997 video “Ghosts.”
Now you do know when you hear the word plethora it has to be alot! And Stephen King is even getting in on the action. And that playlist, it will be an awesome one. Can’t wait for this one in my mailbox on Monday.

Kate Hudson is the cover girl for the February 2009 issue of UK Cosmopolitan. I love this picture of her on the cover…well what you can see of it. Why must they cover the cover with all that writing?
In the interview with the magazine she talks about being single, marriage, and dating. Here are the highlights:
On being single: I’d always been the kind of girl who really loves being in a relationship – I don’t think I’ve been properly single since I was 17 – so it’s always where I’ve felt at my best. But this time it’s different. I’m single and all of my friends are with someone, and that’s never happened before … It’s really nice to sit up at night and read a book, or knit – I love knitting! … I even love sitting there and sometimes being a bit bored, because it makes me appreciate the times when I do do things with my friends … I definitely want to incorporate this new ‘me’ into my next relationship, where you still do things by yourself.
On dating: Dating is a funny one. I’ve never sought love out. I’m a big believer that women should just live their lives and if it happens, it happens.
On getting married again: I don’t know. Who knows who I’ll end up with, and if marriage would even be important to them. I dreamt of the fairy-tale love story – but not so much of the wedding. I never pictured the type of dress I’d wear. For me, it was more about finding the man I was going to have children with. I didn’t think I’d be looking for more than one, though!
Kate has one thing right, usually someone comes along when you aren’t looking for it.

I think she is pretty and headed for a come back for sure, but what is up with all the pictures that show her stomach. I get it.. she worked out and looks better than me. You don’t have to keep rubbing it in my face.

Here is the first look at Britney Spears‘ cover for the December 11, 2008 issue of Rolling Stone. I have to say I’m a little bit disappointed. I wanted it to be really amazing.
Rolling Stone said interviewing Britney was a little hard because of Jamie Spears, her dad, controlling everything.
“We were never left alone together, and my questions had to be submitted ahead of time for approval,” reporter Jenny Eliscu writes.
And even dates are supervised too..
Larry Rudolph says, “Her job is to be Britney Spears, and unfortunately, that job bleeds into her personal life and creates this odd situation where she needs to have security people around her all the time.”
Recently, Spears was accompanied by her assistant, Brett, and Rudolph’s colleague, Adam Leber. “Right when we got there, we just knew it was just bad,” Spears says. “He looked like an older version of Harry Potter, but skinnier. … So I had to get dessert first. And the other date I had, the guy was really, really tall and a lot older. … We’re trying to ask him questions, like, ‘OK, you’re into martial arts, so what kind of martial arts are you into?’ And he was like, ‘Oh, all kinds.’ … But you know how silly we are, so we were just cracking up.”
I’m glad she is on the right path. We are all rooting for her.

Back in July, Star magazine, did a Stars Without Makeup issue. I like seeing what celebrities look like when their faces are naked. I think they did a way better job on the last one than this one. Here are some of the stars featured…and they don’t even look that bad! (Click on the images for a description.)
