I looked for this April 2010 cover of Men’s Journal everywhere and this is the only size I could find. I know it’s not huge but I will replace it to a bigger one if I can find it. Gerard Butler’s interview for the magazine reminds me a lot of John Mayer’s Playboy interview. Which is fine by me because I like a guy that’s not afraid to speak what’s on his mind. Here are some of the highlights:

On going to Jennifer Aniston’s house: ‘Over Christmas [Jennifer] had a tree-trimming party that I went to. Yeah, I trimmed her bush.’ But he quickly backtracked, saying: ‘Sh-t. Please don’t put that in.’

On not being as naughty now as he was before: ‘I think I get laid less now than I used to, because I’m way more paranoid now – look at f-cking Tiger Woods! I mean, I’m nowhere near as naughty as I used to be, partly because I did a lot of that when I was drinking.’

On not cutting out being naughty all together: ‘I’m not saying I’ve cut that part out. I’m certainly no angel. There’s no smoke without fire. But, here’s the thing: while they’re accusing me of that, I’ve probably been off somewhere else doing damage with someone else. I’m pretty smart like that. I know how to get away with these things.’

On not being a big relationship guy: ‘In the last five years since coming out here, I’ve had two relationships. I’m not a big relationship guy. One of my vices is, I’m too wrapped up in myself and not always in a good way.’

In this world of everyone seeming to have to apologize for everything a million times, John Mayer, has been the latest victim. He apologized one again for the fiasco he got involved in a couple of weeks ago. Yeah that Playboy interview that he said some stuff in.

Thursday night, he apologized to his fans at a sold out concert at Madison Square Garden saying…

“I hate to come off like an a–hole ever, and thank you guys for believing that I am not an a–hole,” he told the crowd. “Never, ever in my entire life did I ever think that it would be a good idea to be an a–hole. But you know what? There’s plenty of a–holes who think the same thing, so I have to thank you…It’s a clean me now, people, clean me.”

I am thinking that I’m a little heartbroken over this revelation. I really never noticed John before until he started doing all this stuff to bring attention to himself. I think that he was quite funny and that people never really knew the right way to take him in the first place. I hope he can’t stick with this commitment he has. I want him to be bad. Is that so wrong?

John Mayer is showing off his shirtless self on the current issue of Rolling Stone magazine. The interview with the magazine thrilled me to no end. I just can’t repeat any of it here. There is so much swearing and talking about sex I just can’t handle it all. You know how they try and put movies with a lot of swearing on TV and all you get is bleeps? Well, this post would be full of all bleeps.

So I will try and run it down for you, he offered suggestions on how Tiger Woods could have got out of the mess he was in, how he has never really got over Jennifer Aniston, how he wants to find the right someone to love so he can get it over with already, and how he’s going to recycle and start dating the ones he has already dated.

Poor John. (And as a sidenote: I love how he’s showing off his tattoo sleeve in every shot. That’s the way John, if you paid that much money for it you better show it off. I feel the same way about mine.)

I have been wanting to learn how to play the guitar. Really bad. I got Guitar Hero for Christmas (and please no fighting on the differences please) and now that I realize that I am coordinated to some degree I think I can start to learn the guitar.

The news has been killer the last couple of days…and darn it if it’s made me actually go out and find stories and write about them. About real things. Could it be possible? I guess you can see what I’m really like this way too. I hope I don’t lose too many readers showing my snarky side.

I was reading a list of banned words for 2010 (I am so not used to typing that yet. I am sure you will find me messing it up many times.) over at Time and I thought I would tell you which words that may or may not be a part of their list that I am going to try not to use in 2010. But who am I kidding? I will probably utter them tomorrow already. I am bad at resolutions of any kind. I am a rebel and have to do the things I say I’m not going to do. So here is the list of words I don’t want to use in 2010 but probably will…

1. App – Really people….do I have an iPhone? No. I don’t need to know about the latest app. Well of course if it’s Dion Roy’s though. I want to get his app. See, I already said it and I didn’t even get through the darn post!

2. Sexting – I mean I never really ever use this word but it just in general makes me want to cringe. I hate when people tell me they are sexting. It has dirty written all over it.

3. Friend as a verb – You know what I’m talking about. ‘Did you friend me over at Facebook?” That’s how everyone uses it. I hate it when people say that. Now, friend me over at Facebook because you know you want to. Another one that I totally failed at!

4. Bromance – 2009 was the year of the bromance, I hear it and think of Brody Jenner right away. I think that this is honestly one word that I can commit to not using ever again.

5. Chillaxin’ - I really want to know what is up this world in general. And you know I can’t say the word, chillaxin’, without making my head go funny and making my hand look like it’s scratching a record. I really don’t need to be seen doing that at all.

6. Tweet – I think this has to be the most popular word of the decade. And really you can’t expect me to not use this word at all. That’s like John Mayer’s digital cleanse. It just won’t happen. Sorry.

7. Stimulus – I am not sure what stimulus they are talking about. Okay, I do. I am super sick of hearing about the stimulus packages everyone is getting. Maybe it ’s a case of the jealousies.

8. In these Economic times… – Stop telling me how messed up I am because of these times. I don’t want to know that I am just a loser and I’m not making that much money. Here is another one I can commit to not using in 2010.

Here is my list. You can take it or leave it or use it against me. I will not accept blackmailing though. That would be a different post entirely.

Even John Mayer can make just walking on the sidewalk sexy. Him and that leather jacket of his. Not only is he on the cover of Details but he’s 6′3″ tall! I had no clue until today. He really covers it up. I can only imagine the jokes that are going to come my way in the comments.

People are always so down on John Mayer, but I can’t do that to him. For some reason, no matter what he says or does I still keep coming back to him. What is up with that? I digress…he’s on the cover of Details magazine showing off his sleeve. I used to think that it looked bad. But it’s really settled nice and looks amazing on him. (I’m not just saying that since I have a sleeve of my own with a koi on it either.)

Is this issue John is addressing the haters and telling how Gerard Butler and him should become buddies. Here are the highlights:

On Twitter: “If I see something like Twitter, my brain looks at it from all angles. How am I gonna make this work? I’ll use whatever means I can to stay in touch.”

On the haters: “What if I had a booth on the street and I said, ‘Attention, everybody who hates me: If you have a problem with me, I’m ready to hear your gripes! I will be outside the Barneys store on 60th Street from two to four this afternoon. I will not be speaking to fans. I will only be speaking to people who do not like me. Come out and let me have it. I will not speak back.’ How many people do you think would be standing there? I’m talking about people getting the chance to tell me directly, ‘I think you’re a douchebag.’ You know how many people would do it? Ze-ro. You know what they’d do? They’d walk up and say, ‘I’m just messin’ with ya.’ And you know what I’d say? I’d say, ‘You’re a douchebag!’”

On bonding with Gerard: “We talked about New York. We’re in a bit of the same position of being branded womanizers.”

On not knowing who can come into your life: “You just never know who’s going to come into your life. To my mind, the only thing sicker than saying, ‘Wow, you’re a famous person and it would do a lot for my career to go out with you,’ is to say, ‘Wow, you’re a famous person and I like you and all, but I can’t do that to my career.’ I don’t think either of those is a good option.”

On the two people he thinks he is: “Sometimes I feel like I do two things for a living. I make records and I talk to people. The record is much, much better than any interview I can give—you’ll walk away from the record liking me a hell of a lot more than you would walking away from an interview.”

I am holding John Mayer primarily responsible for something…for letting the word douche be acceptable to be used on television.  I know because of him I use the word quite often to explain how people just don’t get him. I think he’s a great douche. But I know there are many people that don’t agree.

How did douche ever make it onto television and how did it become appropriate to even utter something like that? And then there are those two other words b*tch and a*shat. I heard Dean Winchester (Jensen Ackles)  utter a*shat and almost died. I called up Willow Raine and was like did I really hear that? And then I rewound it a couple of times.

Thinking about it now it seems that the most of the swearing I hear is on the CW. I wonder if they think that it makes their channel more hip and exciting.  That’s what I do at night, I weigh all my options and say, “You know I am going to go with the channel that has more swearing in it because really that’s more of what I like.” I am totally wrong about that. I think that sometimes it’s used too much. If you can notice it it’s not being used right, at least in my opinion.

The days of George Carlin and his, Seven Words You Can Never Say On Television, might end up being phased into the television networks. I was actually watching it last week and I was roaring. I am sure that all those words will widely accepted by the end of 2010. So if swearing is something that is okay, when will nudity get here? We all know that those soap opera’s would be more exciting if there was some soft nudity. The housewives that take care of their kids all day (namely me) get bored and really need something to spice up their day. An actor going into the shower with a bare butt would work for me. That would energize my whole day.

Swearing and nudity. I think that would be a great way to go for the  television networks. I hope you are listening to me…

I was pleasantly surprised when I heard John Mayer’s new single, Half Of My Heart. Taylor Swift does background vocals on this song. This song is off his upcoming album, Battle Studies. And so far, I am loving it all.

I think it’s been a full week of John Mayer here but someone has to love him and if it’s me, so be it. Today is his birthday so HAPPY BIRTHDAY JOHN! He also released the cover of his new album Battle Studies today on Twitter. I am really looking forward to this album.
