Walking the line between good taste and risk is hard enough for a normal red carpet event, but when it comes to the Costume Institute Gala at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, it’s time for fashion critics (large and small) to be more ruthless than normal. You see, this event is sort of almost like Halloween – you’re supposed to go all out. And while the celebrity of your choice should look good, if they play it too safe here they’re just plain boring! (Such was sadly the case for far to many – from  model Gisele Bundchen in a tiny minidress, to model Amber Valletta in a simple tangerine colored dress. YAWN.

This year’s theme? The Model as Muse: Embodying Fashion

Sadly, Gossip Girl Leighton Meester goes on my list of ‘BAD’. She certainly made an effort. But she went overboard. She can’t seem to decide between an 80’s theme or being Shirley Temple. I’d personally pass on both. Verdict: BAD.

But LeMe wasn’t alone. In fact even the wonderful Heidi Klum had a ‘miss’ last night.

Heidi, you’ve been swallowed by a giant…uh…tattered bundle of cloth? I appreciate the drama, at least. Verdict: BAD.

Okay Hilary Swank, I get it. This isn’t a normal, boring dress. You’re sooo edgy. Or, you know, riddled with static cling! Verdict: BAD.

The dress and boots might have worked on Madonna. IF IT WEREN’T FOR HER HEAD GEAR. What is that, really now? A new form of scrunchie? Verdict: BAD.

Rihanna… *Giggle* Verdict: BAD.

Ashley Olsen, this is actually very well played! It’s unique and catches the eye. The back looks more or less like a white shower curtain, but the back is lovely. Verdict: GOOD.

Emmy Rossum (right)  usually sticks to classics and plays it safe. By sticking to a classic shape with a few flairs, she makes this dress work for the event. I would probably hate it for any other occasion. Verdict: GOOD.

Finally, one of these models gets it right! Good job, Miranda Kerr. This LBD is better than basic.

Head Case is a super nice  companion comedy to the new series Party Down (which is like the biggest Veronica Mars reunion show ever!). Every episode has made me laugh, which is a large feat! What can I say, I’m not easily impressed.

Celebrity workouts are probably always going to be a hot topic to discuss.  This is especially true since there are always new workout ideas coming along to keep things interesting (and interest increases chances that the workouts will be done). Recently, I tried some yoga DVDs, and I really do like yoga- not

that I’d do it in PUBLIC. Celebrities that also like yoga include: Madonna, Reese Witherspoon, Kristen Bell and Nicole Kidman.

Nicole Kidman supposedly also has an indoor pool and enjoys swimming laps. I’d probably like doing that too, if I only had my very own indoor pool! Psh!

I’m not sure if there is a craze for Bollywood workouts, but I’m going to be trying them. It’s much less weird (to me) than the ’striptease’ workouts. I got the DVD for Bollywood Booty with Hemalayaa and Bollywood Burn with Hemalayaa. I think they will be tres fun!

Can you guess who these stars were before they were famous? I love seeing how they have grown up into respectable (sorta) people.

The good news is that Guy Ritchie can see his boys, Rocco and David, but the bad news is that he has to follow a list of things that Madonna says he needs to do. The requests that she makes is just crazy. I know why I never really liked Madonna she can be a mean b***h when she wants to be. I know if my ex-husband handed me a list like this I would rip it up and throw it back at his face.

I think that most of it is crazy. Especially the part where Guy can’t let the kids get photographed with him. I can’t believe that she would do that to Guy. And what about the part that they can’t read newspapers or magazines or watch TV and DVD’s…man she is so strict!

I’m not sure which celebrities weren’t at Madonna’s concert the other night at Dodger Stadium! Hayden Panettiere wore this outfit. It’s looks like a tuxedo shirt without the shirt underneath. I’m sure it would be cool to dance and groove to Madonna’s music to. But other than that I’m not so sure. What do you think? Hot or Not?
