Kick Ass Poster

Finally we get a better look at what the movie Kick-Ass is about. I thought it was all superheroes and comic books but there is more to it than that. Catch the trailer where you get to see a glimpse of all the characters.

KICK-ASS tells the story of average teenager Dave Lizewski (Aaron Johnson), a comic-book fanboy who decides to take his obsession as inspiration to become a real-life superhero.  As any good superhero would, he chooses a new name — Kick-Ass — assembles a suit and mask to wear, and gets to work fighting crime.  There’s only one problem standing in his way:  Kick-Ass has absolutely no superpowers.

His life is forever changed as he inspires a subculture of copy cats, meets up with a pair of crazed vigilantes – including an 11-year-old sword-wielding dynamo, Hit Girl (Chloë Moretz) and her father, Big Daddy (Nicolas Cage) – and forges a friendship with another fledgling superhero, Red Mist (Christopher Mintz-Plasse).   But thanks to the scheming of a local mob boss Frank D’Amico (Mark Strong), that new alliance will be put to the test.

Catch the movie in theaters on April 16, 2010.

Eli Roth + Cotton + Funhouse = WIN

Posted by taylor blue on November 10, 2009 | No Comments

cotton eli roth

I haven’t made it a big secret that I like Eli Roth. I’ve even hopped by his Myspace to tell him how amazing I think he is. I think that his mind is warped and for some reason I like that. Take for instance Hostel. It was amazingly gory. I was covering my face because some of it I couldn’t handle. That is the kind of horror movie I like!

New stills from his movie, Cotton, have come out and I hope that exorcism to him will be wicked. The synopsis for the movie is this: Disillusioned by years of defrauding poor believers of their hard-earned cash, evangelical preacher Cotton Marcus decides to put the record straight by producing a spectacular documentary.  And put Eli’s spin on it…amazing.

While I was researching the movie Cotton I came across an article that Eli was planning on remaking Tobe Hoopers Funhouse. One of my favorite books by Dean Koontz is Funhouse.  I know that they really don’t seem related but it’s the point that they have always intrigued me. Maybe it was the time that my dad took me to a Funhouse in Niagara Falls and I freaked out because someone scared me. So Eli has a great spin on what his Funhouse movie would be like…

“I’m talking with Universal about that one. THE FUNHOUSE is a movie where the first half is brilliant—they set up these great characters—and then they pay off none of them. You have Marco the Magician sawing his daughter in half, the brothers who run the carnival and the funhouse setting. And then it’s all about this weird mutant thing. It should be about the kids getting killed in horrible ways, put in different contraptions in the funhouse and the final girl being strapped into the ride and sent into the tunnels to be confronted by terrifying tableaux of her dead friends. A smart remake could be so much fun. Kill the kids in fabulous ways and continually reuse the bodies by making them freaks in the freak museum, sew their eyes shut, waxworks… That’s the stuff I want to do in a remake of THE FUNHOUSE.”

It’s like a warped Saw. I think I would like Eli’s take on it more. I hope his pitching will work.

The Spy Next Door

It’s been awhile since there has been a Jackie Chan movie out. I know that he’s awesome in movies and I can’t wait to see this one, The Spy Next Door. It is set to hit the theaters in January 15th, 2010. The unofficial synopsis goes like this: While babysitting his neighbor’s children, a mild-mannered guy winds up having to fight off secret agents after one of the kids inadvertently downloads a secret code.

See the trailer below. This movie stars Jackie Chan, Billy Ray Cyrus and George Lopez. It really looks like a fun movie!

Dear John Movie Poster Revealed

I am a sucker for romance movies with two of my favorites being, The Notebook and P.S. I Love You. So when I heard that Dear John was becoming a movie I was really excited. And Channing Tatum would be the lead, that was even better. Channing and Amanda Seyfried star in this movie hitting theatres February 5th (just in time for Valentine’s Day!).

The synopsis goes like this: It focuses on a soldier home on leave (Tatum), and the “idealistic college student” he falls for during her Spring vacation (Seyfried). Over the course of seven years, they must face his increasingly dangerous deployments, seeing each other face-to-face rarely, but keeping the affair alive through overseas love letters that “eventually triggers fateful consequences.”

Crazies_teaser FINAL2

In this world that bigger and better remakes comes the latest one. The Crazies. This one is loosely based on the original movie with the same name that was in theaters in 1973.

This George Romero classic is about the inhabitants of a small Iowa town who are beset by insanity and then death after a mysterious toxin contaminates their water supply. Directed by Breck Eisner and produced by Rob Cowan, The Crazies stars Timothy Olyphant, Radha Mitchell, Danielle Panabaker and Joe Anderson.

This movie will hit theaters on February 26th, 2010.

I love this poster. It will prove to be a crazy movie that I am sure.

Finally, we get to see what the movie poster for The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus will look like. (This is the UK version of it.) The movie stars Heath Ledger, Johnny Depp, Christopher Plummer, Colin Farrell, and Jude Law to name a few. There hasn’t been an official release date for the States yet. I can’t say enough how excited I am to see this movie. People that know me know that Heath is a very important person in my life as I talk about him often. I can’t wait to see his last movie up on the big screen.

A bigger picture of the movie trailer is below plus a close up of Heath.
