The more and more I see of Daybreakers the more excited I get. There cant’ be anything else sweeter than seeing Willem Dafoe and Ethan Hawke kicking some butt.
Two-time Academy Award nominee® Ethan Hawke plays Edward Dalton, a researcher in the year 2019, in which an unknown plague has transformed the world’s population into vampires. As the human population nears extinction, vampires must capture and farm every remaining human, or find a blood substitute before time runs out. However, a covert group of vampires makes a remarkable discovery, one which has the power to save the human race.
I have to say that I’m impressed with this movie! (As if it could be any less!) Robert Pattinson stars in Remember Me and on the eve of the New Moon release we get to see the trailer for this one. It’s wonderful to see Robert in something else that shows his amazing ability to act. There is lots of kissing and fighting too. I can’t wait to find out a solid release date!
Finally we get a better look at what the movie Kick-Ass is about. I thought it was all superheroes and comic books but there is more to it than that. Catch the trailer where you get to see a glimpse of all the characters.
KICK-ASS tells the story of average teenager Dave Lizewski (Aaron Johnson), a comic-book fanboy who decides to take his obsession as inspiration to become a real-life superhero. As any good superhero would, he chooses a new name — Kick-Ass — assembles a suit and mask to wear, and gets to work fighting crime. There’s only one problem standing in his way: Kick-Ass has absolutely no superpowers.
His life is forever changed as he inspires a subculture of copy cats, meets up with a pair of crazed vigilantes – including an 11-year-old sword-wielding dynamo, Hit Girl (Chloë Moretz) and her father, Big Daddy (Nicolas Cage) – and forges a friendship with another fledgling superhero, Red Mist (Christopher Mintz-Plasse). But thanks to the scheming of a local mob boss Frank D’Amico (Mark Strong), that new alliance will be put to the test.
Yes, I’m a loser and am a little behind on this movie. I have been meaning to write about it and now finally I saw a trailer from the movie, The Yellow Handkerchief, and decided to write about it. Kristen Stewart stars in this movie with William Hurt and Maria Bello. In the movie a road trip through Louisiana transforms three strangers who were originally brought together by their respective feelings of loneliness. (All these movies about love lately are making me sick.)
I am quite impressed with Kristen’s accent. I think I would be pleasantly surprised with her performance.
Back in July, I posted the trailer for, Brothers, starring Jake Gyllenhaal, Natalie Portman and Tobey Maguire. Now that the movie is hitting theaters on December 4th they released a couple of new stills. This movie looks amazing, especially with the cast that it has. The quick synopsis is that a man (Jake) comforts his sister-in-law (Natalie) and children after her husband (Tobey) goes missing in Afghanistan. I’ve watched the trailer more than a couple of times already.
The new movie, The Box, with Cameron Diaz and James Marsden, is hitting theatres on Friday. And every time I see the trailer I am always asking myself what is this movie really about?
So after doing a bit of research I found out that it is based on the short story, Button, Button, this short story also made it’s way into being an episode of The Twilight Zone. The quick run down of the movie is this: Norma and Arthur Lewis, a suburban couple with a young child, receive a simple wooden box as a gift, which bears fatal and irrevocable consequences. A mysterious stranger, delivers the message that the box promises to bestow upon its owner $1 million with the press of a button. But, pressing this button will simultaneously cause the death of another human being somewhere in the world; someone they don’t know. With just 24 hours to have the box in their possession, Norma and Arthur find themselves in the cross-hairs of a startling moral dilemma and must face the true nature of their humanity.
This brings me to the question I have been asking everyone around me. And annoying them with it. Would you press the button if you would cause someone to die and take the million dollars? I know personally I started thinking of every way possible to try to win. Everyone knows I love to play games and I love to try and cheat and win because I’m a sore loser. But there is no way that you can win in this one. If you really need the million dollars, since these days a million dollars doesn’t seem like much, but if you need it it might seem like a sweet deal. But I couldn’t handle the thought of having someone’s death in my head that whole time. And then if I didn’t take the money and really needed it might cause me to have something bad happen to me. So what is a person to do? Would you push the button?
