It’s with such a heavy heart that I report that one of the Deadliest Catch Captain’s Phil Harris has passed away. I have been keeping an eye on the story since he suffered a stroke two weeks ago but after the surgery he went through I thought it would be okay. You know you never expect to lose people. They said he was showing improvement but the cause of death isn’t known yet.

These two statements have been released. One from the Discovery Channel and the other one from Jake and Josh Harris.

Discovery Channel: “Discovery mourns the loss of dear friend and colleague Captain Phil Harris. He was more than someone on our television screen. Phil was a devoted father and loyal friend to all who knew him. We will miss his straightforward honesty, wicked sense of humor and enormous heart. We share our tremendous sadness over this loss with the millions of viewers who followed Phil’s every move. We send our thoughts and prayers to Phil’s sons Josh and Jake and the Cornelia Marie crew.”

Jake and Josh Harris: “It is with great sadness that we say goodbye to our dad — Captain Phil Harris. Dad has always been a fighter and continued to be until the end. For us and the crew, he was someone who never backed down. We will remember and celebrate that strength. Thanks to everyone for their thoughts and prayers.”

It seems like every week these days we are writing posts about someone dying. Today it happens to be Patrick Swayze who lost his 20 month fight with pancreatic cancer. I know many people said it was bound to happen. But I was hoping maybe Patrick could last forever.

I want to remember Patrick the best way I know. As Johnny Castle from Dirty Dancing. I used to watch that movie as a little girl and wish that I could be Baby and dance with him. I even bought the soundtrack on record so I could listen to it all the time. Yes, I said record.

Celebrities took to Twitter to pay their respects to this amazing actor that we will all miss dearly.

Our thoughts are with Patrick Swayze’s family and friends as they get through this time. I hope they can find peace soon. I hope that Patrick is happy where he is because his fighting and pain are over. You will be missed my Johnny Castle, you will be missed.

I am saddened to say that producer, Kim Manners, has passed away. He died on Sunday morning due to complications to his lung cancer.,  He was very close to the Supernatural cast and crew…Eric Kripke gave this statement…

“Everyone at Supernatural is walking around in a daze, shocked and absolutely devastated. Kim was a brilliant director; more than that, he was a mentor and friend. He was one of the patriarchs of the family, and we miss him desperately. He gave so much to Supernatural, and everything we do on the show, now and forever, is in memory of him.”

Jim Beaver, who plays Bobby, left messages on his Facebook and MySpace saying…

“Jim is in mourning for one of the best friends and best directors he’s ever known – Kim Manners, who died last night from lung cancer.”

My thoughts are with the Manners famiy and everyone at Supernatural.
