Ryan Phillippe Barack’s The Vote

Posted by taylor blue on November 4, 2008 | No Comments

Ryan Phillippe was spotted voting in Los Angeles. He of course voted for Barack Obama, he’s hasn’t made it a secret that he supported him, he even rallied for him in Missouri this weekend. Ryan also voted ‘no’ on Prop 8 that is trying to ban gay marriage. I knew Ryan had his head on straight.

Since I am Canadian and live in Canada…for now…I thought I would urge you Americans to vote by saying there are a lot of places rewarding customers for voting.

Starbucks is giving anyone that asks for a coffee a free one. (They were just going to make it apply to voters but changed that rule.)

Check on the site, Hey, It’s Free, they have all the available freebies around the States that you can take advantage of with your ‘I Voted’ sticker. Including a free tattoo removal session and sex toys!

So what are you doing here?? Get out and vote!

John Mayer Is My Hero!

Posted by taylor blue on October 29, 2008 | 2 Comments

We haven’t heard from John Mayer but finally he has decided to blog again. And I couldn’t be happier. Look at that man…wowee…and what a great sleeve he has (I got one over the summer myself!). Anyways, the election is coming up next week…thankfully. And John wrote something that made sense. The post is long so I will only include what really moved me the most.

I was 23 years old when the nation was attacked on September 11, 2001. I can remember hearing pundits say “this changes everything” and “things will never be the same.” Obviously it was a tragic and traumatic event, but that sentiment has carried on through the better part of my twenties.

What Barack Obama says to me is these days are good for something. Just when I’d thought my only role as an adult was to help shoulder the nation through its darkest days (known to us as “the rest of them”), Obama gives me the feeling that I could be alive to witness one of the most brilliant upturns in a country’s history. Imagine that — a young adult in this day and age being given something to someday brag to his children about having being alive to witness. What a concept.

That’s why hope is a worthwhile commodity. To those who question whether hope is a tangible product worth building a campaign around, I’d say take a look at despair and how powerful that has been in reshaping how people think and live. I believe the definition of the “hope” that Barack Obama enthuses operates on the unspoken thesis that there has to be a polar opposite to the despair of 9/11. Because if we accept that there’s not, the will to live becomes forever altered. To adults who will vote for him, Barack Obama represents a return to prosperity. To the youth, he represents an introduction to it.

I think that everything that John says is true. Obama has such an air of calmness around him. He gives you hope for the future and makes you think everything will be alright. Who will you vote for?

Hayden Panettiere Does Ellen Degeneres

Posted by taylor blue on October 24, 2008 | 2 Comments

Hayden Panettiere was on the Ellen Degeneres Show to talk about Heroes and her passion in helping others. She also showed Ellen what was up her dress!…It’s Ellen underwear silly! Ellen Degeneres also tried to get her to talk about her boyfriend, Milo Ventimiglia, but Hayden just pretended she didn’t know who she was talking about.

The clip this way…

Ellen Degeneres Blasts Sarah Palin For Prop 8

Posted by taylor blue on October 22, 2008 | 17 Comments

There is such controversy on Prop 8…and if it were to go through it would ban gay marriage. I have changed my opinion of how I feel about it in the last year. I support gay people wanting to get married. Love is such an amazing thing and so is marriage. How come straight people can get married 4 or 5 times over and over but gay people can’t get married once. It doesn’t seem fair at all. Sen Sarah Palin wants to ban gay marriage on her show Ellen Degeneres ranted about it.

“I told you all I’ve been watching CNN a whole lot lately. I’ve been watching it way too much I think because they’ve invited me to their Christmas party.

She continued, “I don’t know if you saw this, but Vice Presidential Candidate, Governor Sarah Palin says she’s that in favor of a federal ban on gay marriage. Basically wants to change the constitution. So if you’re wondering, I’m sure you are, how I feel about this. I don’t like, I don’t like it. I don’t agree. Maybe it’s because I’m gay that I think we should all be equal. but I feel that we’re all equal.

“I don’t know what people are scared of maybe they think that their children will be influenced. I gotta say I was raised by two heterosexuals. I was surrounded by heterosexuals just every where I looked heterosexuals and they did not influences. I mean I dabbled in high school, who didn’t? Everyone dabbled, ya know?

“People are gonna be who they’re gonna be. And we need to learn to love them for who they are and let them love who they want to love.”

I think Ellen is amazing at changing people’s opinion of how they should feel.

Hayden Panettiere’s PSA To Vote For John McCain

Yes, even Hayden Panettiere is getting on the bash John McCain wagon…it’s about time! I think that Barack Obama should win hands down. Just Jared nicely wrote out the transcript of what Hayden said so we can all memorize it and repeat it to everyone…

“Hi, I’m Hayden Panettiere, and I’m hot enough that I know I have your attention for at least 30 seconds. There are three things I think all citizens should do: Smoke cigarettes, vote for John McCain, and don’t wear a seat belt. A vote for McCain is a vote against change. He’ll keep tax breaks for the rich, start another war, and we’ll all probably die. He’s just like George Bush, except older and with a worse temper. Let’s vote for McCain and stay the course. Don’t switch horses midstream. Get an older horse that will take 12 years to cross that stream, ‘cause he’s old. John McCain, he’s had affairs with lobbyists, so you’ll get f—ed, and he’ll get f—ed. Everybody wins. Nobody f—s with John McCain.”
