The ‘ER’ Series Finale Party

ER is finished with it’s last episode on Thursday. I still can’t believe it and that’s mostly because this year was the best season yet. And the guy above? Is the new doctor I have a crush on. Dr. Brenner. Every time he cries I swear I have to too. I hope they find something new and excited for Simon Lyons so I can follow him to a new show.

The cast had their series finale party last night at Social in Los Angeles last night. Some of the cast pitched in with their lasting memories of ER.

“It’s difficult to invest as much energy, time and passion and then not be on it but still be accountable to it. In some ways, I’ve been waiting for this. And in others, it’s the closing of a really beautiful chapter in my life, so I feel melancholy.” — Noah Wyle (Dr. John Carter)

“It’s very cliche to say it’s a family here, but it’s very genuine here, and I will miss it incredibly.” –David Lyons (Dr. Simon Brenner)

“It’s going to be strange not seeing these guys every day. I’ve been spoiled here.” — Parminder Nagra (Dr. Neela Rasgotra)

“This is a show about saving and helping people, about sacrifice and working hard. We have worked very hard to do that right.” — Troy Evans (Desk Clerk Frank Martin)

“It’s been great to be part of something that has such a rich legacy and go down in TV history and have a small part in it.” — Angela Bassett (Dr. Cate Banfield)

“It’s amazing to go everywhere in the world and have people recognize you and be nice and appreciative of your work.” – Abraham Benrubi (Desk Clerk Jerry Markovic)

“Being on this show has changed my life. It’s given me respect in the business. People look at me like I’m a totally different actor.” — John Stamos (Dr. Tony Gates)

“I wasn’t gonna be sad. But now I’m looking at 15 years of my life. I’m saying my thank-yous quietly, my so-longs and see-you-laters. Not goodbye.” — Yvette Freeman (Nurse Haleh Adams)

“I had downloaded the theme to ‘ER’ before I was on the show and I used to jog and pretend I was in the opening credits.” — Scott Grimes (Dr. Archie Morris)

ER has been around for half of my life. Well that’s not quite true, but almost. I will miss that show. I have watched every season and through all the things I went through in my life it was there every week. Well, except when there were reruns. I will miss it terribly.

Britney Spears ‘For The Record’ Soundbites Released

Posted by taylor blue on November 20, 2008 | 2 Comments

Britney Spears‘ documentary, For The Record, is coming soon. November 30th at 10 PM EST on MTV to be exact. I will be watching for sure because anything that is about Britney I want to watch. EW has released some of the soundbites from For The Record

On Justin Timberlake and Kevin Federline (whom she refers to as “my babies’ daddy”): “With Justin, he was a part of the magnitude of what I had become. So when he was gone I was like, What am I supposed to do with myself? I was devastated [by the breakup] but I handled it a lot better than the [split] with Kevin….He started to do an album for himself and he started to do things for himself, and I just never saw him anymore….When it ended I felt so alone. I didn’t really wanna think about the reality of it. I never faced it….I just ran.”

On recovering from her 2007 meltdown: “My trust has really been battered….Sometimes it can get kinda lonely….I had totally lost my way. I lost focus. I lost myself. I let certain people into my life that were just bad people…because I was lonely….I really paid the consequences for that. Big time….What the hell was I thinking?”

On fame: “At first, it’s amazing, the first year or two, because it’s like, I’m a celebrity!….It didn’t really touch me until I had been working for six years….I wanted to just stop. I wanted to create a new life.”

On the current state of her life: “Do I know my life is weird? It’s all I’ve ever known. I don’t see it as being weird….I’m kind of stuck in this place and I’m like, How do you deal? I just cope with it every day….It’s better not to feel anything at all and have hope than to feel the other way….It’s bad. I’m sad.” She breaks down into tears. Later, she complains that her life is too in control these days: “It’s like Groundhog Day every day. It’s really boring….Normal is really different for everybody….In my situation, I try to make it as normal as possible for me….It could be a lot worse. There are people out there who have it a lot worse than I do….I used to be a cool chick but I feel like the paparazzi has taken that away from me, like, the way I used to live my life. I used to be a cool chick but I’m not anymore.”

More Pictures From Ellen Degeneres’ Wedding

Posted by taylor blue on August 21, 2008 | No Comments

These pictures of Ellen Degeneres and Portia de Rossi were posted at Just Jared and I just had to post them. They are so beautiful and show love really doesn’t know boundaries. I am glad that they decided to be so public with it. Show the world that they need to be more open-minded.

Here is some of what she said in the interview in People magazine…which I can’t wait to buy y’all!!

On being married: “We had no idea that once you get married you have to eat off of one plate. It also cuts the doing dishes time in half. Being married is great!”

On the main picture above: “We posed for this picture before dinner, and then we got stuck like that for half an hour… I’m never wearing that much hairspray again.”

I’m so glad they listened to their heart…instead of their head.

David Beckham Does Men’s Health

Posted by taylor blue on August 4, 2008 | No Comments

David Beckham is looking hot as the cover man for Men’s Health the September 2008 edition. (Is it already September???) Inside he talks about golf, his soccer skills and back when he was a kid. Here’s some highlights…

* On his comfort zone: “There is this madness around me, around my family. Without a doubt, out on the field is where I’m most comfortable, where I’m happiest, because I know what I’m doing, and I know I can do it.”

* On losing: “I’m a really bad loser. It stays with me for a while. I always take it quite personally when we don’t win as a team or I don’t win in everything else I do.”

* On relaxing: “People always ask me, ‘Do you play golf?’ Because a majority of sportsmen do. I used to play, quite a few years ago, but to be honest, I’d rather spend four hours with the kids than four hours on a golf course. As much as it can be relaxing, it’s a frustrating sport. My way of relaxing is listening to music and spending time with the kids.”

* What another player said to him when he was 13 years old: “You’ll never play for England, because you’re too small and not strong enough.”

*On golf vs his family: I used to play (golf), quite a few years ago, but to be honest, I’d rather spend 4 hours with the kids than 4 hours on a golf course. As much as it can be relaxing, it’s a frustrating sport. My way of relaxing is listening to music and spending time with the kids.

Everybody say aawwww now!

Jessica Alba Covers Cosmopolitan UK

Posted by taylor blue on July 12, 2008 | No Comments

Jessica Alba is the cover girl for UK Cosmopolitan magazine’s August 2008 edition. In the interview she opens up about being pregnant, her marriage and what she thought she never would do. Here are some highlights:

* On falling for Cash: “We met on the set of The Fantastic Four in 2005. I remember thinking right away, ‘What a great guy.’ The first week we got together, he gave me a note saying, ‘I really, really like you.’ And that was exactly how I felt. Cash believes, as I do, in taking life as it comes. Nothing was planned – the pregnancy or the wedding – but he took it in his stride and convinced me we’d conquer all! I love that. He makes me laugh more than anyone — and he’s great looking too…”

* On being pregnant: “I never felt less sexy. I mean, I wouldn’t have changed it for the world and my cravings weren’t so bad — I craved citrus fruits, like lemons, oranges and grapefruit. But I wanted to get rid of all the weight. It was also a great happiness, though and I certainly didn’t have any cravings not to be pregnant.”

* On what surprises her about men, and double standards: “How easily they’re attracted to the obvious. All you have to do is dress up in a sexy outfit. When I went blonde for Sin City three years ago, I swear I’ve never had more male attention. [...] I don’t like double standards. I’d never use a man for sex but I can understand why some women would – and I don’t see why they should be criticized for having the same attitude as men.”

* On her surprise wedding: “Well, we’d talked about the possibility of having a wedding before the birth, but nothing was decided. Then we just thought, ‘Why not?’ We wanted to do it for ourselves, not for anyone else, so it just made sense. It was very romantic, though. Cash designed the ring himself. He decided he wanted to wear one, too — I didn’t even have to force him! How he proposed is a secret but, needless to say, I said yes right away. We’re not a typical Hollywood couple. I love that he’s not an actor.”

* On dating actors: “I’m way too high maintenance to be in a relationship with an actor – they’re all such divas! They take longer in hair and makeup than I do. I used to do action scenes in the TV series Dark Angel and if you roughed one of them up, they’d complain. I remember accidentally hitting one guy on the jaw and he needed a 20 minute break so he could put ice on it. He even wanted X-rays! I was like, ‘Come on, get over it.’”

* On her life now: “I never thought I’d find a man before 30, let alone marry him and have his baby. I always used to meet the wrong guys – the ones who wanted to hang out for a week and see how far they could get. If you didn’t have sex in the first few days, you were either frigid or a lesbian. So I held out – and, boy, am I glad I did!”

Batman And The Joker Do Entertainment Weekly

Posted by taylor blue on July 3, 2008 | No Comments

The Batman and The Joker are Entertainment Weekly’s cover boys…with all the hype of The Dark Knight I think it was a great choice. Inside the pages Christopher Nolan (the director) has nothing but praise for Heath Ledger and the role he played in the movie.

On Heath’s commitment to his character: ”The guy had serious nuts. What I needed was someone who wouldn’t be afraid of the comparison with Jack Nicholson. And then I saw Heath’s incredible performance in Brokeback Mountain. Such a lack of vanity. This was an actor who wasn’t afraid to bury himself in his character — to a massive extent.”

On having the same vision for the The Joker as Heath: ”We had the same take on the character. We didn’t have a script yet, but we had ideas. The idea of anarchy as an absolute. The idea of chaos as the most frightening thing to society. The idea of a motiveless criminal, somebody who just wants to watch the world burn.”

On Heath spending months working with a voice coach fine-tuning the Joker’s cackling cadence: “He tried to articulate to me what he was doing with his voice, but it was sometimes hard to understand. He talked about ventriloquist dummies, the way their mouths moved, the way their voices wouldn’t appear to come out of them. He said he wanted the voice to have a mocking quality, a sort of disconnectedness.”

On Heath splattering makeup across his face throughout the film: ”He started applying the makeup himself — just to see what it would look like if he put it on with his own hands. We talked about how streaking the paint could get across the idea of corruption, of decay.”

This role of The Joker would have changed Heath no matter what…and seeing him come alive again on the movie screen will be moving. Laughing and crying…amazing and terrifying…good and bad…
