Leighton Meester covered the September 2008 issue of Gotham magazine. From what I had seen of the photo shoot I knew I would have to post the scans. Here is highlights of the interview that was in the magazine.
This is our fall fashion issue, and I noticed that the clothes you picked for this shoot are unlike the things your character wears. But has being on the show influenced how you dress in your personal life?: Yeah, of course, of course. It makes you much more aware of what you put on, aware of trends and styles. And in a photo shoot, especially one like this, it’s kind of cool to try something new. I’m not trying to go overtly sexy or too fashion-y. I have a lot more knowledge of designers and things like that. But I think it has a lot less to do with what designers you wear and what the trends are than who you are and what you feel good in. I still feel good in jeans and T-shirts for every day, so that hasn’t changed. But I like dressing up more.
Blair is flawed, and real, and she tries—which makes her interesting and appealing. There isn’t that expectation of earnest virtue from her that there is from Serena.: It’s very human. And I think that’s why people like Blair, even if she is the biggest bitch you’ve ever seen. Everything she plans falls apart. Her relationship with Serena is kind of unfortunate, because it could be so good. Blair’s intentions are always good, but when you piss her off, it’s really bad.
And when you’re that age, everything takes on a heightened sense of importance.: Your boyfriend seems like the last guy you’ll ever date, and your best friend—it’s the end of the world if she’s mad at you, and you have to get invited to suchand- such party. Blair is very wrong for being so jealous, and Serena is wrong for being so sensitive.
Why do you think people want to make that rivalry translate into your and Blake’s real lives?: I couldn’t tell you, to be honest. I think it does have to do with being a girl. And I think that people are just not creative. They want us to be our characters on the show. They want us to all be dating each other and fighting with each other, when in reality it’s a TV show.
When in reality, only some of you are dating and fighting with each other.: [Laughs] Well, you know what? I can’t even think about that anymore. There’s really nothing that I can say, I feel like I’ve said it a million times: It’s not true. And the thing is, once you read something that isn’t true about yourself, you never believe anything that any of those people write ever again—about anybody else, or yourself…. People ask me about it all the time. We work together every day, and we do get along.

Leighton Meester is the cover girl for this weeks issue of US Weekly. Inside she talks about how her mom was in jail when she was born and how her family got back up on their feet.
Leighton on what this has taught her: It makes me very nonjudgmental and open-minded. And I think it just makes me appreciate the things that I have now.
Leighton on her mom: She’s always there for me no matter what. I swear, that woman knows everything.

The rest of the scans after the jump…

Anne Hathaway is the cover girl for this week’s Entertainment Weekly. It’s kind of scary and refreshing all at the same time to see her dressed like this. I’m glad that’s she’s on her way back to being the glamourous girl she once was..before her nasty exboyfriend got his claws into her.
Here are some highlights from the interview…
On keeping her life low-key: â€You know those girls that, like, go out? ‘I’m just not confident enough to do that. I’m not the sort of girl that will throw on a short skirt and tease her hair up. I feel uncomfortable with attention. Truly, I am a wallflower by nature… Obviously… this summer was a little different.â€
On feeling artistically free on the set of The Devil Wears Prada with costar thespian heavyweights Meryl Streep and Stanley Tucci: I was motivated more by stress than I was by creativity. I didn’t want to fail. But the whole Devil Wears Prada gang raised my understanding of what it is to be a great actor. They were just operating on another level than I ever had. I was inspired to throw caution to the wind because that’s what I saw them doing.â€
See the rest of the interview here.

Also…if you have the time you have to check out a great blog about making money from a blog friend of mine… Mom’s Cash Blog. I love her ideas!!!

The Heroes cast is covering TV Guide this week. I can’t believe that in less than a week the show will be back.
These scans offer some spoilers so read at your own risk…I love how they start the article…
All hell, and nearly a dozen prisoners with superpowers, will break loose on Heroes this season. Syler goes on a mad rampage to get Claire’s brain. Peter comes back from the future to commit an inconceivable act of violence. And our planet is in danger of cracking in half. But, right now, Hiro-the time-bending fan-geek-has a more immediate problem. A cute little blonde has knocked him on his ass. Literally.
Sounds like this season is going to be killer.

Hugh Laurie is on the cover of Entertainment Weekly this week. The season premiere of House is next week so it’s perfect timing. Will House get together with Cuddy finally this year? I think last season’s episode where she did that scene in the bus…you know which one I am talking about.
Here is my favorite quote from him in the interview that they did with him about the beginning of House…
“I was obsessive about every aspect of [the show]. My performance in it, everyone else’s performance, and the camera angles, how it was cut… I was a pain in the ass. I am a pain in the ass.â€
I can’t wait for next week!

I am so happy that they finally have featured the Gossip Girl cast on the cover of Entertainment Weekly this week. They are also posting four rumors about the show and the answers to them…
Rumor One: Not enough people are watching Gossip Girl and it’s gonna be dunzo after this season.
Answer: False. This just won’t be happening. Especially with the core group that is watching is 12 year olds. There will always be tweens to watch this show. And besides…it got picked up for a full season. So, there will be lots of Gossip Girl.
Rumor Two: Jenny Humphrey is leaving Gossip Girl for her very own spin-off series.
Answer: False. This just won’t be happening.
Rumor Three: Blake and Leighton totally hate each other and the set is a big hot mess of backstabbing and hookups.
Answer: False. It would be a much cooler story if this was true. It just seems everyone is so quick to judge them and try to find faults in all of their relationships off set. And no, Chace Crawford and Ed Westwick are not gay and dating each other!
Rumor Four: This year Gossip Girl will be a smorgasbord of raunchy sex, male prostitution, and lots of rich people doing very bad things.
Answer: True. They are going to step it up this season. And from the first week’s episode of the new season it looked like the hottest demographic was from the 18-34 year olds. Now that’s more like it!
