English alternative rockers Muse have released the official music video for their chart topping single “Resistance.” The video gives fans a glimpse of their energetic and extravagant live performances for which they are known. The single comes from the band’s fifth studio album titled, The Resistance, which has topped the charts in 19 countries and reached number three on the American album chart thanks to the lead single “Uprising.” The best selling CD fuses a number of musical genres, including progressive rock, classical music, and electronica. Albany based pop/rock trio Young & Divine (RCA Records) will release their self-titled debut EP on March 23rd. Leading up to the release, Young & Divine will hit the road with Secret Secret Dino Club and This Condition playing dates in the southeast. Young & Divine is comprised of singer/songwriter/bass player JP Clark, Jake Mai (guitar / vocals) and Joe Bortscheller (drums). Their first single “Shake That Bubble” impacted radio at the top of the year and continues to grow at Top 40 radio.

Young & Divine independently recorded their self-titled debut release with Kenneth Mount and Zack Odom (Cartel) at Atlanta’s Tree Sound Studios, where the trio perfected their super-charged choruses, powerful guitar lines and ear-grabbing melodies. Clark is the group’s chief songwriter, penning every track on the album, as well as producing a handful of them.

Young & Divine got its start when Clark asked his college pal Bortscheller — to play on the songs he’d been working up by ear (he doesn’t read music). The group took off quickly as a four-piece, but Clark and Bortscheller soon found themselves in the market for a new band member to complete what was now going to be a trio. They found their missing piece, Mai, in a literal digital haystack: MySpace. After relocating from Texas, and only two weeks of rehearsals, the now completed trio of Young & Divine hit the road, touring cross country in a van until they signed with RCA Records in 2009.

Currently playing shows across the country on a slew of radio promotion dates leading up to the release of their album, Young & Divine plan to tour extensively through the spring and summer.

“This Is War,” the albums’ title track and second single will impact alternative radio on March 1st. It is the follow up to the hugely successful “Kings & Queens” which recently spent 3 weeks at #1 and is currently in the top 5 on the alternative playlist charts. “Kings & Queens” is the band’s second #1 single and third top 5 hit. The platinum selling A Beautiful Lie’s “From Yesterday” reached #1 in 2007 and “The Kill” which was voted the #1 song of the decade by AOL Radio listeners peaked at #3 in 2006 before becoming the first song in alternative radio history to be retired from the Billboard chart after a 52-week run. Texas rockers Green River Ordinance are set to hit the road with Sleeperstar next month on a headlining tour.  The two bands teamed up to record a very catchy song announcing the new shows and had a lot of fun recording a video to go along with it.  Check out the dates below and watch the video featuring stop-motion animation, a stuffed hippo, and GRO drummer Denton Hunker in a monkey costume.

Lifehouse will join Daughtry as special guests on the second leg of their U.S. tour beginning March 18th in Baltimore, MD at the 1st Mariner Arena (see below for a complete list of dates). Chris Daughtry appears on Lifehouse’s much anticipated fifth studio album Smoke & Mirrors, having co-written the track “Had Enough” with Lifehouse lead singer/guitarist Jason Wade and Richard Marx and lending vocals to the song.  Smoke & Mirrors is set for release on Geffen Records March 2nd.

OneRepublic have released a new song on iTunes called “Good Life” which appears on their forthcoming album Waking Up due out next week. They have been unveiling a new song each week on iTunes as a countdown to the album’s full release on November 17th. (I will have my review on the whole album on Monday! I can’t stop listening to it.)

Pop-rockers Honor Society debuted at #18 on the Billboard Top 200 this week, moving over 22,000 units of their debut album, Fashionably Late. The band kicked off their second headlining tour on Monday, September 21 in Minneapolis, MN and will continue a run of nearly 40 dates with shows across the United States and Canada including an appearance on The Today Show on Friday, September 25.

The release of Fashionably Late caps off a busy summer for Honor Society as they joined the Jonas Brothers on their World Tour 2009 performing to nearly 1 million fans throughout North America. Today marks the release of Demi Lovato’s album Here We Go Again!
