Sire Records’ recording artist Andrew McMahon of Jack’s Mannequin, will guest on The Daily Show with Jon Stewart tomorrow, Thursday, November 19th. Andrew will be joined by Jack’s guitarist and backing vocalist Bobby Raw for a rare solo performance of their latest single “Swim” from their current album The Glass Passenger. In addition, McMahon will sit down with Stewart to discuss his recently released documentary Dear Jack, which chronicles McMahon’s own personal fight against leukemia. The Dear Jack DVD was released by Sire Records on November 3rd and quickly became the No. 1 Music Movie on iTunes. In addition to being available for digital download through iTunes, the film is currently for sale in stores and on Jack’s Mannequin’s website www.jacksmannequin.com. Sire Records has also released
The Dear Jack EP (featuring four previously unreleased tracks), which climbed to No. 17 on iTunes Overall Album chart.
Jack’s Mannequin will hit the road in December as very special guests of Weezer. They will also be part of an exclusive WRXP show along with Phoenix and Manchester Orchestra on December 2nd at the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City. In addition, Jack’s Mannequin will launch their own headlining tour of the U.S. in February 2010.
And finally, McMahon will join Stand Up To Cancer’s team of celebrity ambassadors, which also include Mandy Moore, Kirsten Dunst, Patrick Wilson, Ethan Zohn, Marcia Cross, and many more, beginning in December 2009. The Stand Up To Cancer (SU2C) initiative funds groundbreaking research aimed at getting new treatments to patients faster, and aims to rally the public around the fight against the disease.

Dead Man’s Bones is a band consisting of Ryan Gosling and Zach Shields. And literally from the first time I heard Ryan sing I knew I was in love with their music. This new song Pa Pa Power has been leaked and I’m not disappointed. I don’t think I ever could with them.

The All-American Rejects posted a new video to their YouTube channel explaining Tyson Ritter’s recent health problems. With several stories circulating after canceling a handful of dates on the Blink 182 tour, Tyson took to YouTube to clear up what happened over the past few weeks. Kanye West has been causing trouble all over the place. Tonight at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards he went up to Taylor Swift while she was accepting her first VMA and interrupted saying that it was Beyonce that had the better music video. I watched the clip so many times and even sat through the Awards again to see if it would change the second time around. But of course, just like the Titanic sinks every time I watch the movie this one did too.
I was on Twitter after wards watching the reactions. That place has really changed the way we do news these days. Anyways, I overheard that Kanye’s twitter account had been suspended. It was probably a really good idea they did that considering all the hate messages that would be delivered there.
And then Mike from Mike’s Bloggity Blog was telling me that Kanye is making an announcement about his tour with Lady Gaga tomorrow (Monday) and is on the first episode of the new Jay Leno show. So for the first time I’m thinking maybe he did it on purpose to drum up publicity for himself? I don’t know if it turned out the way he wanted since his performance at the VMA’s was canceled. Please tell me that he was just being stupid? It’s a whole lot easier to explain then what it is.
