Did you know it’s been almost ten months since Heroes was last on? I can’t even believe that! And in the first volume of the season “Villains” we don’t quite know who is bad and who is good. So how can we sort that out?
The season premiere kicks off with future Claire (Hayden Panettiere) trying to shoot future Peter (Milo Ventimiglia) to stop him from going back in time and committing a murder. Explosive events at the Company land matriarch Angela Petrelli (Christine Rose) in a new and powerful position. And Dr. Mohinder Suresh (Sendhil Ramamurthy) will finally get a superpower of his own — one that sends him down a dark and scary path.
“He injects himself with the serum he developed to cure Maya [Dania Ramirez] and doesn’t know how to control it,” reveals Ramamurthy. “It becomes a real Jekyll-and-Hyde thing. I never would have imagined that the genetics professor who’s been getting his ass kicked for two seasons would suddenly be the one who’s kicking ass.”
Or getting laid. Monhinder and Maya will have some extremely steamy encounters this fall — a first for the show. “Heroes is not known for romantic relationships because it would be so lame to have two people kissing and making eyes at each other when the world is at stake. We needed to go all the way in a raw and real way,” Ramirez says. “Our show is geared to the young, male audience. I think they’re ready for some sex. And,” Ramirez adds with a laugh, “who’s better than me?”
I have to disagree though that the show is geared to a young, male audience. I know alot of people my age and who are female just like me that watch the show. And when Peter was kissing that girl last season I have to say I liked watching that. They should have more romance on the show.
In November of 2007, Sprint and NBC’s Heroes partnered together to create the ‘Create Your Own Hero’ contest. Over the span of four weeks viewers were able to choose attributes that they thought would make a good hero.
As the new season of Heroes approaches the attributes were combined and two potential ‘Heroes’ were created. Now it’s time for you to vote for your favorite…Santiago or Audrey…
The winning character will appear as the subject of a brand new Live Action web series written by the creators of Heroes, debuting around the November sweeps week.
You can vote by going to the NBC Website or To vote for Santiago: Text A to 6789 (exclusively for Sprint users), To vote for Audrey: Text B to 6789 (exclusively for Sprint users).
Kristen for E! caught up with Hayden Panettiere and Milo Ventimiglia about the next season of Heroes. So read ahead for the SPOILERS.
Here are some of the details…
On the Villians: According to Milo and Hayden, we’re in a world of trouble with these new villains. Hayden said, “There’s many things much worse than Sylar (Zachary Quinto).” He’s a tough act to follow, but OK. And Milo said, “I think everybody [this season] is confronting something worse than Sylar. It’s something that is going to strike a chord and be close to Peter, what this big obstacle in the road is…[because] it’s a threat to everybody; it’s a threat to everything. I’m not going to say it’s four horsemen or one horseman, but there’s gonna be a power that comes in that everybody has to kind of band together to make sure it doesn’t run wild.”
On everyone working together again: Hayden said the original cast will be sharing lots of screen time: “A lot of us are working much more closely together—the main cast—which I think is what the audience missed about the second season, and I think what we missed about the second season…that we didn’t really get the chance to work with each other. We’re all crossing paths this season.”
On Claire’s life-altering storyline: Hayden hinted at a big bad that deeply affects our Claire-Bear and changes her future forever: “Something happens to [Claire] that’s actually quite frightening to her, and it plays a big part in who she becomes in the future and what happens to her. I wish I could babble about it now because I have a lot to say about it, but I can’t. But it’s something, yes, that manifests further about her ability that weighs heavily on her emotionally, and mentally, as a person. And I think it would [weigh on] anyone who would be going through a situation like that…I think Claire plays a very important role in what happens, and in that way she can be worse than all of them.” She also said of her character’s fate: “Future Claire’s very different, and it’s a very different world. It’s kind of, as you can imagine, a world gone a little bit awry. She’s a very different person.”
On Peter (hopefully he can be shirtless in every episode again!): Milo Ventimiglia shared a big fat clue about Peter’s storyline when the show resumes: “The one thing I can say is that Peter’s not quite himself this season…In the second season, Peter lost himself, and in the first season Peter was fighting himself, and in the third season, when I say Peter’s not quite himself, he’s not quite himself.” And just between you and me and the fly on the wall, I can tell you that a newly introduced character has something to do with that change..
