Zachary Levi Rocks The Beard

Zachary Levi was at the NBC/TCA Press Tour last night. I am thinking that his beard is just getting crazier! I know that they are starting to film the second season of the show in less than a month. (But the show won’t air until March.)

Zap2It had a chance to interview Zach and here are the highlights (the interview was so funny!):

On if his beard is a unibomber thing: Don’t count that out. … What’s his name? Kaczynski? Krasinski? No, not John Krasinski from “The Office.” I can’t tell you how many times I’ve been to a press thing and someone comes up and says, “So, the new season of ‘The Office’ …” I’m not even kidding.

On how much free Subway he’s got in the last little while: Levi: Five tons. They sent in an entire truck with turkey breast footlongs, with everything.
Joshua Gomez: Remember that scene from “Indecent Proposal”? We did that with Subway sandwiches. Just on the bed with meat an cold cuts, slapping each other silly with … no?
Levi: I totally remember that. I had so much mustard in my … forget it. I’ll tell you something about that — the jalapenos don’t sit well. I can deal with the pepperoncinis.

On what Zach would be doing if Chuck got canceled: Hopefully I’d be getting another job. … But at the end of the day, and I know it’s so cliche to say everything happens for a reason, but if we had been renewed quietly in the night, nobody would have cared. But the very fact that they held on and we were on the chopping block really riled up our passionate, dedicated following to the point where they were a huge voice and part of the process.

I feel like now — we got picked up virally, all these campaigns got us a lot of traction and a lot of buzz. We need that, especially as a show that’s kind of struggling for every viewer. At the end of the day, what we were able to accomplish was being a championship for our fans. They’re our shareholders. Being at Comic-Con and having 4,000 people deep. I’m just stoked to have been part of the process.

On how long his 2.0 powers last: That has been outed, yeah. There’s a hitch in the giddy-up, as they say. Intersect 2.0 is not an exact science, and we need to work through that in the third season.

Our Top 5 Favorite TV Couples

I admit it. I’m missing my shows already. I have just a couple of months before shows start returning but I thought I would make this list to try and supress some of the urges. I guess I could also watch the DVD sets I have too. But this is much more fun.

Here’s TEN Gossip’s top 5 favorite TV Couples.

1. Sawyer and Juliet on Lost.  My favorite part of Lost this year was the Sawyer and Juliet couple twist. And at the end of the season when the two of them were separated it killed me. I hope when the show comes back for it’s final season that they get back together.

2. Sarah and Chuck on Chuck. One of the things that really made me want to watch Chuck was this ‘fake relationship’ that Sarah and Chuck had. Chuck loves Sarah so much and you want them to be together. By the end of every episode I tried to cheer Chuck on. But we all know that will never happen.

3. Blair and Chuck on Gossip Girl. I was happy to finally see that Blair and Chuck got together at the end of this season. Everyone cheered for the two of them to be together. But will Chuck be able to stay tamed? I guess we will find out next season.

4. Elle and Sylar on Heroes. I think my favorite couple ever was Elle and Sylar. I was so sad when Sylar killed Elle because I really wanted the two of them to become a team and fight everyone together. That part where Elle was teaching Sylar how to use the electricity was hot. Too bad we won’t see a repeat performance.

5. Thirteen and Foreman on House. I loved this development on House. That Thirteen and Foreman got together. When the two of them kissed I squeeed. I just hope that they will stay together as Thirteen is getting sicker.

Zachary Levi Does Wonder Con

Zachary Levi is at Wonder Con and yes I have to write about it. A Twitter friend, kkjordan, has been posting a lot of shots of her with him. She also took this adorable picture of him. There were some spoilers revealed at the panel so if you don’t want to read them stop here. SPOILERS AHEAD.

Y The Last Man: The Y The Last Man poster in Chuck’s bedroom was supposed to be there in season one, but it took a year to get clearance for it. Everything in Chuck’s bedroom is a clearance nightmare, said Fedak and star Zachary Levi. Levi found out about that series when a woman told him that he was the only person she could see starring in it, and he started reading it and became a huge fan. (And apparently, there’s an internet campaign to cast Levi as Yorick in the movie.)

The series (season I hope) finale includes Bakula, Chase, Morgan Fairchild and Bruce Boxleitner. And as you’ve heard, it’s a “game changer” that sets up a very different status quo for season three, if one happens.

There are actually two weddings towards the end of this season, not just one. (My money’s on Morgan’s mom.) And there are crazy twists and turns and stuff.

The economy is going to hit the Buy More, but it doesn’t sound like the store will go under. But you may be seeing some people downsized from other, better jobs, coming to work at the Buy More because it’s all that’s left.

Zachary Levi enjoys getting his ass kicked by Yvonne Strahovski. That started back in the first season, when they were filming a promo where Sarah teaches Chuck some martial arts, and she’s supposed to twist his arm or something. It wasn’t gelling, so Levi suggested Strahovski slap him instead. They had to do 20 takes of that slap but it was still worth it because it was funny. Thus was born the tradition of Strahovski kicking Levi’s ass, which Levi likes. “It’s very satisfying for me too,” says Strahovski.
